Strategy on killing Amalgam is the same as killing a Shrieker. Get a Soul Spill scroll and stock up alot of souls once you get to a stage where amalgam is present. Wait for him to consume enough units to be over 50 HP, after that release the ghosts of all your previous kills and its done.
