How to unlock the Elite achievement in Riptide GP: Renegade - Definitive Guide
Also as DugFreez pointed out in the comment below: you can go into the options and set the difficulty to Easy.
If your having trouble you can check out my Achievement Review/Tips Video:
There's tips throughout the video but
I go over how to beat Krex at 4:50
I go over tips for the freestyle events at 7:15
I show where all the Easter eggs are at 13:55
*Correction* For beating Krex I used the Scorpion but thats actually the hydrojet you get from beating him so you should use the Striker or Shockwave
1. Make sure you have the difficulty set to "easy". This is found by going to Settings -> Difficulty -> Easy.
2. Make sure you learn the Boost Bonus, Boost Start, and Drafting skills when they are available. They are you highest skill priority and you should get them as soon as possible. They are available at levels 2, 5, 10, and 15. You'll need 3 SP (1 SP each) for level 2, 6 SP (2 SP each) for level 5, 12 SP (4 SP each) for level 10, and 18 SP ( 6 SP each) for level 15. I personally got Boost Start, then Drafting, then Boost Bonus each time I had the opportunity. Thank you nightw0lf for reminding me about this important detail.
3. Play it safe in freestyle events. Triple tricks are great when you can do them, but it's better to do a trick that you won't fail the landing on. Variety of tricks and consistency are more important than nailing a higher level trick.
4. With extra SP, prioritize level 2 tricks, then level 3 tricks, then level 1 tricks. You will be doing level 2 tricks more often than any other type of trick, and level 3 tricks fill the boost meter. NOTE: You will need to do a different trick off each jump or you won't get as much boost. Doing the same trick twice in a row, even in races, seems to give less boost than if you did 2 different tricks off each jump. Tricks that I used (you don't need all of these): Rock Star, Surf's Up, Lazyboy, Handstand, Hang On, Double Front Flip, Double Back Flip, Log Roll, Triple Front Flip, and Triple Back Flip.
5. Make sure you use a hydrojet that you are comfortable with. In my opinion, the Scorpion is the best hydrojet because it has the highest top speed, still handles relatively well, and has enough boost and acceleration to stay ahead. NOTE: The Scorpion is actually one of the cheapest hydrojets to max out, since you only need to purchase 8 upgrades (2 for each stat) as compared to most other hydrojets that require 40 upgrades (5 for each stat). The Cruiser is probably the 2nd best hydrojet in the game, but I felt it was too slow the few races that I used it. The Shockwave is probably the 3rd best, but I felt it was subpar by the time I got it (after beating the main storyline).
6. Make sure you know the shortcuts! In the last tier of side quests, it is pretty tough to win without knowing all of the shortcuts. While the easter eggs show you some of the shortcuts, it does not show you all of them, especially the ones that save you the most time. I saved a lot of time by using the shortcuts for The Ruins, Tropico, Downtown Rush, and Firewater. NOTE: The Unicorn Base shortcut for ignoring the jump to the left works only on the first lap. On the second lap, take the jump off the blue boat that crashes into the red boat. Also, I found Alpha Station's shortcut too risky and I usually skipped it on my races. It is definitely not needed to get 1st in all events.
7. DON'T BOOST IN THE SLALOM EVENTS! Don't miss any poles and don't boost and you will get 3 stars every time without any issues.
Here is a picture guide on the shortcuts: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=73410...

The Scorpion and the Shockwave only require 8 total upgrades to max out stats, while the Cruiser only needs 12 total upgrades to max out stats. However, I strongly suggest the Scorpion since top speed is a very important stat and can mean the difference between 1st and 2nd in a lot of these events.
EDIT 1: The links should be working properly now.
EDIT 2: Added in more sections: SP priority, freestyle advice, trick advice, and slalom advice.
Earning 1st place in all events also means earn all 354 stars in career mode. This is nice to know as you then can get a quick overview of your progress through the Stats section. This is very likely to be your last trophy on your way to earning the Platinum (unless you wait and get it with some of the miscellaneous trophies).
There are a few things to do, to make this trophy a bit easier for you:
- When you reach levels 2, 5, 10 and 15 you will unlock a new tier of stunts and skills. Use your skill points on upgrading Boost Bonus, Boost Start and Drafting before unlocking new skills, they will become very useful to you throughout the game since drafting becomes important when you reach the more difficult opponents.
- Learn how to time you starts to earn a boost start. This is not in any way difficult once you know what to look for. At the beginning of every event three red lights will flash and once they turn green the race begins. Around all three lights is a blueish half circle. Once all three lights are red these circles will turn 90 degrees (and then the lights will turn green). A bit before they have turned the 90 degrees hold and you will get a boost start if timed properly.
- If you lack money or experience to upgrade or unlock something, then you can replay a previously completed event to earn some extra cash or XP. The award for winning the same event over and over again will not decrease as you keep replaying the event.
- Spend your money wisely. Though it might be tempting to fully upgrade every new hydrojet you unlock, it is not the best strategy. The reason for this is that upgrades for better hydrojets are more expensive than for less good hydrojets. Preferably you should only upgrade your hydrojet when you have difficulty passing an event - you often only need a podium finish to unlock the next event. Try to skip some hydrojets and stick to a previously unlocked hydrojet as this could save you some money. Personally I didn't use the Scimitar, Fireball or Shockwave hydrojets at any time during the game.
- It is most likely that you won't be able to earn 3 stars in every event the first time you play the event. If you have trouble with earning the third star in an event then continue on to next event and return later on when you have a better hydrojet. Some events will require you to get three stars to unlock the next event but this is mainly in the latter part of the game.
- There are two main strategies when it comes to using your boost: use it in corners or use it in a straight line. If you are used to playing racing games then you would naturally think that you should boost in a straight line - this would also be a good strategy to keep up with a fast opponent. However, you are able to do corners more tight if you use boost while turning. This can be very useful in slalom events where you have to do a lot of tight corners rather quickly.
- Unlock the Cruiser as fast as possible after beating Krex. The Cruiser is the best hydrojet in the game and should make things a bit easier for you when going for 3 stars in every event.
- During your cleanup run of the events, consider trying another hydrojet if you are having troubles with a specific event. Depending on your driver style and the type of event (race, elimination, slalom or freestyle) another hydrojet with e.g. better acceleration could be a better choice.
This is not that hard as you can go into the options and set the difficulty to Easy. Just play through the career, try to learn some of the shortcuts and get three stars all events. The achievement will you unlock as soon as you get your last three stars and impressive will unlock as well if you haven’t already got it.
And use shortcuts on all routes except Alpha Station!!!

Slalom
The most difficult mode in the game, for the easiest way to complete it, use a fully upgraded Cruiser jet ski, because it has the best acceleration and good control.
