How to unlock the Champion achievement in Riptide GP2 - Definitive Guide
I repeated the big finish style event till I could buy the mantra (highest top speed boost compensated the lesser acceleration)
You can't always unlock 3 stars first as the game rubber bands oppenents a lot.
When In. racing or elimination mode don't hit every jump the landing will cause a bounce for you and the AI that will slow you down if you go to side you will fly past opponents,
If you have 3/4 or more boost you shouldn't take any jumps.
If your boosting whilst turning and can't make the turn let go of the right trigger, you don't slow down but you gain more control atleast most of the time, if your In group the other racers waves can push you out into walls.
Always save some boost for the final stretch the AI does the same and 2 seconds from the line you can go from first to third.
Freestyle maps try to use you biggest point move over and over till it's worth as much as you next biggest move and work you way down table turn move (rotating horizontally) can make you land side and lose speed so leave this till last or when you sure you can make the landing, if you boost before a jump and hit it dead on you will get enough time to land a lvl 10 trick.
Not a whole lot else to add it isn't horrificly hard, I dislike racers and am bad at them but I just 1kd this game. I'd say about 6-10hr to finish depending on your skill level.
This will likely be the last trophy you earn. You will need to win every one of the 68 Events across the 9 Cups.
As noted in the Roadmap, I would recommend sticking with your starting vehicle until you can upgrade to Fireball ($35000). If you are doing well, you could stick with your starter vehicle, and add upgrades to it.
Eventually, you will want to purchase the Manta, which costs $300,000. By the mid way point of the game, you should have enough money, and will be finding it difficult to progress further without upgrading.
If a lower level Event is proving frustrating, you can always skip it and come back once you have upgraded.
his achievement pretty much sums up what you're going to to be doing the entire game. Each of the 4 event types have different rules and different ways to earn stars. In races you earn them by placing well; namely first place for 3 stars. In Elimination you earn them by being the last one standing. In Hot laps you get 3 stars for besting the time constraint for finishing the lap. Then finally for Freestyle you need to earn the specified amount of points to reach 3 stars; having a diverse bag of tricks is never a bad idea here.
The best way to go about winning races as easily as possible is to use the starter jet ski, and slowly upgrade it as you earn more money, and continue to progress through the events until you have saved up $300,000. At this point you will want to buy the Manta jet ski which is best overall jet ski in the game due to its top speed and boost stats as well as strong handling specs. You should have no problems winning events in this jet ski, and you should continue to fully upgrade the Manta as you earn more money to make the events as easy as possible.
Now that you have the Manta it's time to revisit events and 3 star them. Check out "Speedy Racer" for hot lap tips, "Aggressive Racer" for elimination tips, "Pro Racer" for race tips, and "Tricky Racer" for freestyle tips.
- do 1-2 tricks to completely fill Boost
- then we fly the race, going around all the jumps (they steal a lot of time and it’s not clear how else you’ll land on the water)
- and in the last 100-500+ meters we accelerate with speed!!
