This achievement is unmissable during the storyline. Once you are preparing to leave Iolcus and have spoken with the 4 Gods in Alceme's tomb and leave, Hercules will be waiting outside the tomb. After the cutscene he will join you on your quest.

Story related cannot be missed. Near the end of your initial time on Iolcus (at the beginning of the game), Hercules will officially join the Argonauts.
