How to unlock the Ursa Major, Great Bear achievement in Rise of the Argonauts - Definitive Guide

Ursa Major, Great Bear consists of nine combat related feats. Mostly this is just an extend version of Leo, Savage Lion. The Feats required and quick tips are as follows:

Unyielding: Slay 30 prone enemies - This will be easy once Pan is available for battles. He often will knock enemies to the ground. Simply run over and press Y while they are laying still and Jason will perform a finisher. I found this works best with the spear and the sword.

Berzerker: Kill 35 enemies with dash atttacks - If you completed Leo you should have 15 kills already. After destroying an enemies shield, they will often hold their arm and limp. Simply hold RT and hit Y while aiming their direction and Jason should swoop in for the kill. Rinse and repeat. This ones easy because dash attacks are extremely useful and you'll likely use them often. Remember to wait for the sword to recharge (red glow) before attacking the next enemy or a regular execution will occur.

Peltast: Slay 25 enemies with thrown spears - Thrown spears are performed by holding RT and tapping B. As above, smash until you have limping enemies and then unleash fury. Spear should glow blue when it is reloaded and ready to be thrown.

Sunderer: Shatter 60 shields - A fairly simple one that will usually come from simply playing through. However, if you want to get this out of the way early simply equip the mace during your training session on Ioclus and smash their shields to bits. You can repeat training until all 60 are done with if you want. The sword and spear will smash around 1 in 10 shields i found but the mace is the quickest.

Executioner: Execute 100 enemies - A very simple one. Executions are perform with the Y button when enemies are low on health. Several of the other feats in this constellation contribute to this so it shouldn't be an issue.

Zealous: Call upon 25 God Powers - Another very easy one, simply set a god power to a analog button and hold that button when its highlighted on the wheel on screen (you can turn on God Power UI in the game menu). Playing on Legend i used the Healing Beacon Power ALOT.

Stalwart: Knock down 60 foes - Very simple, easiest with the mace. Simply hold RT and hit Y, Jason will jump and slam the mace into the earth, knocking over surrounding foes. I got this one in the first training session on Ioclus as well. Just one less thing to focus on throughout the game.

Veteran: Kill 250 enemies - I don't think it's not possible to get this naturally, but if for some unforeseen reason you don't have it during your retaking of Ioclus, simply allow the Invisible black tongues inside the palace to continually spawn Tartartus Fiends. They run out eventually but you'll have plenty.

Survivor: Revive incapacitated Argonauts 10 times - During battle your fellow Argonauts will sometimes "Die", but really they just keel over. Once you purchase the Rallying Presence Aspect from Appolo's tree, you can revive them! Just run over and press A. On Legend this will be easy, but if your on a lower difficulty you can ramp up your difficulty during any stage of the game, block like mad, and let your buddies die. I did it in Tarturus with regular fiends and it came very easily.

That's all there is to it! The main issue with these is not performing the moves, but balancing between getting the required kill numbers for Eridanus and Aquarius, while toying with the special kill needs. My recommendation is to focus first on simply killing the soldiers and Sartyrs first, then worry about these feats. After Ioclus and the Gladiator battles, i had 78 soldier kills, needing 22 on my Ioclus return which was simple. As for Sartyrs i got as many as I could out of the arena, then got 60 quickly on Saria and still had 4 or 5 battles to fool around with special kills.

If your missing any of these feats when going into the final stage, remember that you can get tons of Tartarus fiends to spawn here, and focus on the feats needed. It's really not very tough in the end. Hope this all helps, Good luck!

Note that for all the Kill XXX deeds the death blows must be made by Jason, not one of the Argonauts.

Complete the following deeds for this constellation:

  • Slay 30 prone enemies (press when wielding the sword or spear and you are near an enemy that has been knocked to the ground)
  • Kill 35 enemies with dash attacks ( + or + while wielding the sword)
  • Kill 25 foes with thrown spears ( + while wielding the spear)
  • Shatter 60 shields (attack shield using enemies when they are not attacking while wielding the mace)
  • Execute 100 enemies (kill enemies using the button)
  • Call on God Powers 25 times (hold , , or after you have acquired and assigned a God Power)
  • Knock down 60 foes ( + while wielding the mace)
  • Kill 250 enemies (self explanatory)
  • Revive incapacitated Argonauts 10 times (get Apollo’s Rallying Presence from the Aspect menu and then press when you are near an incapacitated Argonaut)
