How to unlock the Social Climber achievement in Rise of the Ronin - Definitive Guide

In this guide we will show you how to earn the "Social Climber" Trophy in Rise of the Ronin.

During your playthrough of Rise of the Ronin you will meet various characters, with whom you develop bonds and alliances.

To earn the "Social Climber" Trophy you will need to embark on a mission with all 32 different allies in the game. It is not possible to earn this Trophy during the normal gameplay flow, as some allies are not available in some missions. However, using the "Testament of the Soul" mechanic (unlocked at the beginning of Chapter 2), you can retry older missions.

Your first step is to make sure you have all 32 allies unlocked, as some like Gonzo are missable. Use "Testament of the Soul" and retry as many missions as needed until you have unlocked the entire roster.

Once you have all 32 allies available and you have completed the game, use "Testament of the Soul" to select the "Curtail Falls, Curtain Rises" mission from Chapter 1. Then from the "Select Allies" option choose the two allies you want to take with you. Start and complete the mission by following the steps from the video. Then retry by selecting two different allies, until you start the mission with all 32 different Allies.

It is not mandatory to complete the mission to earn the Trophy, only to start a mission with 32 different Allies. Alternatively, so after you start the mission you can quit, and start it again with new Allies. In our humble opinion though, it is best to complete the mission to get the xp and resources.

It is worth noting that if you play this mission on the Midnight difficulty level (unlocked in the endgame) you will also earn the "Midnight Crossing" Trophy. Also, regardless of the difficulty level you will also earn the "Traveling Through Time" Trophy.

In order to unlock the 'Social Climber' trophy, you need to unlock every ally in the game. There are thirty-two allies in all, and you need to play with all of them in one of the Ronin missions. The way to unlock this is to use the Testament of Soul to go back to older missions, and to do this once you have completed the game, as you will have all of the allies at that point. Now you can complete any of the missions and swap your allies with each attempt, working your way through them all. Many missions allow you to play with two allies, too, greatly cutting the time it takes to unlock the 'Social Climber' trophy. Once you have finished a Ronin mission with all of the allies, this trophy will unlock.

If you’re missing one, it could be Takahashi at the dojo area of the Military Academy. Fight someone there and he will become an ally.

For convenience, before the mission of selecting the ronins who are going with you, use the R2 shift to mark who you have already taken. It's much more convenient this way.

2 characters were missing
1) Gonzo
Replaying Chapter 1 - The curtain falls... and rises (you need to spare Gonzo)
Then, in the Communication Task section, we replay the mission with Gonzo “Bad Company”, you will need to complete the mission with him.
2) Deishu Takahashi
Edo region - "Military Academy" travel point, you will need to fight one battle with any of the fighters to choose from, after which he will appear as an ally.
PS The fastest way to run through Chapter 1 - The curtain falls... and rises
Immediately run to the boss, kill and in a circle

During the course of the game you will meet 52 non-player characters, but only 32 of them can accompany you in battles. You can take as many as two partners with you on Ronin’s mission, but when completing the initial missions for the first time, the choice of allies will be limited. You may have to repeat some of Ronin's missions after completing the game. For convenience, you can add those allies with whom you have already been on a mission to your favorites list: on the ally selection screen when you press the button An orange mark will appear next to the character's name.

I managed to get the trophy without replaying the missions, I tried to take new allies for each mission.

It may be difficult to find the last ally. With a high degree of probability, he will be a balding man with a spear from a military camp in Edo (the same one where, according to the plot, exhibition battles were held in the second chapter). To open the Connection, you need to talk to him and win one training battle in his dojo. You can lose two more allies if you enter the wrong door in the story: kill Gonzo, the bandit leader, in the quest Curtain Falls, Curtain Rises / Curtain Falls, Curtain Rises and kill Naosuke Ii in the quest The Sakurada Gate Incident / Incident at the Sakurada Gate . In the second case, you will not be able to have Akikatsu Manabe on your team, because his task in the third chapter will not be available.

Current for version 1.003: you can start a mission and immediately exit it, progress is counted.
