How to unlock the Avid Shopper achievement in Rise of the Tomb Raider - Definitive Guide

This achievement seems to be based on the number of purchases, cumulative over playthroughs. On my first playthrough, I bought everything but one item. Now in my second playthrough, it unlocked the first time I made a purchase at the shop. (The silencer, which I also bought the first time around.)

So if you're out of coins, don't panic! Just start a new game.

Came here to comment this after finding this out too. Turns out it is the guide xD Wish I saw this first, was saving this for 2/29 unlock timestamp. Oh well.

Great solution. Although there are more than enough coins. I bought every store item in one playthrough, with at least 60 coins to spare. And I haven't completed the game yet. As I said, good solution, just wanted to note that smile

if you don't have enough coins to buy all 6 items you can do the following.

1) After you collect some coins to purchase the lower priced items, save at the nearby base camp then change the save slot to another slot.
2) Purchase the lowest priced items from the supply shack
3) Exit main menu and load the first save. Change the save slot again and then purchase the items.
4) Repeat until you purchased 6 items total through this method and the achievement should unlock.

Does this also apply to the xbox 360 too? If so, then I'll give it a go.

I think this is the best solution out there. No hassle of starting a new playthrough, this method works on your original playthrough within just a couple of minutes!

If you play through the game and collect everything you should be able to buy everything from the supply shack. I beat the game and still needed 40 more gold coins to buy my last item.

What you want to do is go to previous Tombs and search around to see if you find any coins that you might have missed going their the first time. I went to 3 different tombs and was able to get the 40 missing coins I needed.

The Tombs are:
Ancient Cistern
Voice of God
The Red Mine
House of the Afflicted
Catacomb of Sacred Waters
Baths of Kitezh
Chamber of Exorcism
Pit of Judgement

Here is a video of some of the coin locations I found:

Do you need to buy the upgrade/enhancement tool for this achievement to unlock?

I did but you should keep that for last i saw someone open up one o the stronghold chests and it gave it to them. So keep that one for last if it does that.

After finishing up everything in the game, I found myself 120 coins short of my final upgrade. I have scoured the map countless times and managed to get it down to 50. Really strange how i'm so far out.

Is there some space for error? Or do you need to pick up every single batch of coins in the entire game for this?

Strange. For me the bunchs of coins at Whirlpool Sanctuary granted 15 units, not 7... By the way, that's the actual amount of coins I'm getting in every stash. It seems the count keeps getting higher as you keep collecting stashes. I still have some stashes uncollected, so I'm hoping to find enough coins for the last two itens (the guns)...

I'm missing 5 goddamn coins for the grenade launcher and I have 100% the game too which means I've collected all the coin caches, scouted through ALL the tombs for collectibles etc. Really frustrating.

I was over a 100 short. Re-checked all tombs, spamming the vision button to find coins I’d missed. Also re-checked where relics had been found in tomb like places, and went back to Syria level/tomb and found a pile there. I was still short but found this website https://riseofthetombraidermap.de/l/#3/-76.29/-38.58 which shows 3 coin pile locations in The Lost City. I just needed two of them to bag the achievement.

There should be enough coins spread around the game to buy all items in one playthrough. (850 coins in all).
I have just unlocked the achievement and have 14 golden coins left after the last purchases. I have nearly 100% on each location before starting "Track down Trinity" (around 72% game done) so its likely you have "missed a spot or three" if you are running short. Heres a few tips on where you can find coins.

- The monoliths / bautas - (translating theese will give you locations to hidden coincaches in the current area) You must go to XX and dig it out. Usually 15 coins pr spot
- Ancient places - In Tombs / Crypts (Stacks with 3-7 coins lays around in corners and around the big chest.
- Dead soldiers - Loot every guy. You may get a coin or three from theese.
- Gift of Alms cointainers - Looks like a wooden sylinder / jar with lid.
- Ancient Secrets Mission from Geothermal Valley - This is a huge boost to the coincollection since the missiongiver pays you for each tomb completed. I think its 25 coins pr tomb, but not sure.

I know its possible to buy the first CraftingTool from the store, BUT you will get it for
in the story later on.. I could not afford the first so I bought the laser dot and some other cheap things. So maybe I was lucky there ;)

GLITCHED

Note: This issue was fixed with Patch 1.05. You must start a completely new game after installing Patch 1.05 and play through the game from scratch to get this. If you did this prior to Patch 1.05 the trophies will not pop retroactively, it has to be done in a new game.

The supply shack is found in the Soviet Installation area. You will unlock it automatically while progressing through the game. In this shack you can buy new weapons and equipment by spending coins. The main source for coins is from translating monoliths and then picking up the coin caches (translating a monolith reveals the nearby coin locations). You also find smaller amounts of coins throughout the open world and in challenge tombs. One of the side missions rewards you with 60 coins.

After reaching 100% game completion you should have enough coins to purchase everything in the shack. Pay extra attention on the coins in crypts, tombs and other underground areas (caves). These don't always show up on the map so if you’re missing something, then visit these locations again to take a look. You may also find a few more scattered around in the last area of the game. More coins exist than you actually need for this.

Some players have trouble getting this to unlock but for others it unlocks just fine. The same issue existed in the PC and Xbox One versions and there's still no fix for it. The best thing you can do is make a backup save before doing this trophy and if it doesn't unlock, reinstall the game then copy back the save and try again.

The Supply Shack can be found in the Soviet Installation region, with a number of items and weapons available for purchase, using coins that you'll collect during the game. Coins are found throughout the game world, often loose in small groups (most commonly in tombs), but more significantly, in buried caches which will be marked on your map after reading a nearby monolith - though these caches can be found without the monolith if you know where to look (and for this, see the "Voices of the Past" achievement).

For this achievement, you'll need to buy every available item, which requires a total of 705 coins. If you seek out all coin caches and keep an eye out for other coins as you travel throughout the game world, you should find enough coins to meet this comfortably, but if you find yourself short, I suggest returning to the challenge tombs and crypts to check for any coins that you might have missed.

You probably have to buy all the items from the shack in one go

It didnt work when i collected all the items one by one or going cumulative for specific number via second play through. Likely it's a buggy achievement, i could get it years after i completed the game because it wasn't triggering.

Here is what i did:
1) had enough coin to buy it all
2) went to supply shack and started buying from right to left in a single shopping (i don't know does direction matter)
then achievement unlocked moment i bought last item

or decrease patch to 811.3

If you don’t need all the goods, like, for example, I didn’t need a suit, a machine gun and a shotgun, or you don’t have enough coins for all the goods, then you can make it simpler.
  • Teleport to the merchant
Press pause to change save location
We buy everything we have enough coins for
    Exit to the main menu
Load the save that was BEFORE changing the cell
Press pause again - change cell
We buy the same goods again
Repeat these steps until the achievement appears
We load the main save and play further, having received the achievement and saving the coins for the necessary items.

If you go for platinum, then you don’t have to worry, after completing the game 100% and purchasing all the items, I still have 100 coins left.

If you pick up all the coins that you can find, they will be more than enough for all the purchases in the hut. The trophy drops out easily.

If there are not enough coins, we go to the lost city. Don't forget to turn on highlighting of active items in the settings. Coins lie in piles in some houses.
