How to unlock the Reading the Past achievement in Rise of the Tomb Raider - Definitive Guide

You get by translating the Greek on the monolith in the first tomb you enter into. First you have to inspect the many artifacts in the tomb located on the walls around the monolith. Once your translations level up you can inspect the monolith and get the achievement to pop.

Did you read the objects around the monolith first? It wont pop if you are offline until you sign online.

When you get to the first tomb you will walk up to the monolith. Use your sense (click on right stick) to find nearby paintings to get your Greek up to level 1. Then you just go to the monolith in the middle and she will translate and achievement will pop.

Esse troféu você consegue logo na primeira parte do jogo. Quando você termina a sequencia de caídas e contempla a cidade da Síria, você esta na entrada de uma caverna, entre. Explorando essa caverna você chega até uma sala onde tem uma grande pedra no meio, no inicio você não consegue ler, para isso você precisa explorar a sala e coletar escrituras ou fraguimentos velhos antigos, quando você atingir o nível 1, volte a pedra ao meio da sala que você poderá ler e com isso o troféu vem. rock

GALERA, NÃO SEI PORQUE MAS NÃO CONSEGUI POR O VIDEO PRA COMEÇAR NO MOMENTO CERTO DO MEU COMENTÁRIO, PORÉM AVANCEM PARA: 29m47s

CLICA AQUI NO LINK DO VIDEO QUE ELE ABRE JUSTO MOSTRANDO O QUE EU EXPLICO A CIMA compute

The game world contains a number of monoliths - tall carved stones that Lara can read when her language proficiency is sufficiently high (see also the "Fluent" achievement), to reveal the location of nearby collectibles. You'll unlock this achievement by reading your first monolith, which will most likely be in the game's first tomb. This monolith requires Greek proficiency at level 1, which can be attained by reading the murals on the nearby walls.

Monoliths are stone pillars with an engraving on them. You need a certain level of language proficiency to translate them. You increase your proficiency by interacting with objects (mostly documents and murals) around the world. By far the easiest monolith is the first one you find in Syria. It requires Greek level 1. Investigate the wall paintings around the room to quickly reach level 1. Now inspect the monolith again to translate it.
