How to unlock the Spinning Leaf achievement in Rise of the Tomb Raider - Definitive Guide
There are a few cards that can make this way easier for you:
- Pick a fully upgraded bow of your choice. That means a grade V card. For example, I used Composite Bow V.
- Pick a master outfit card, so you have all the skills available. I used Sacra Umbra Master Outfit.
Using this setup, you'll have the automatic headshot skill. In order to use it, you need to aim with the bow (hold ), ready your arrow (hold ) and zoom in (push ). Then, a red marker will appear over the enemy's head, and when you release you'll get a headshot.
Also, War Numen suggests a couple of cards that can make it even easier: If you really wanna easy mode this, stick on the Classic Rules card (Infected can only be killed with head-shots & finishers) & the Big Head Enemies card.
Be careful, because, if you aren't using the "Classic rules" card, when the enemies are attacking you, running, or in a higher level than you are, the arrow could hit them in an arm or in the chest, not counting as a headshot. There are two ways to avoid that.
- Sneak around and attack unsuspecting enemies. Because of their way of standing, you'll only be able to get headshots attacking them from the sides or the front, not their back. These enemies are blind, so if you don't do any noise, you'll manage to pull it off.
- Climb onto one of the buildings, and snipe around looking for enemies. As you are aiming from atop, almost every kill will be a guaranteed headshoot. WizardSleeve08 has suggested a great place for this: If you're looking for a nice spot, in the southwest corner of the map there's a small frozen lake area. Right nearby it is a small water tower that provides a pretty decent 360 view. Typically an infected will crawl out from underneath the small docks area to replace some that have been killed, so its almost like spawn camping.
Remember that only normal arrows count. Don't use explosive, fire or poison arrows.
Challenge to Select:
- Spinning Leaf
Recommended Cards to use:
- Tomb Raider
- Any Level V Bow card or you can use the one you start off with
- Hunter Sense
You can get this at anytime during the level as long as you get 5 headshots within 1 minute and using regular arrows, so no fire, poison or explosive arrows. Letting the enemies know where you are is good and fast way to get 5 of them to comes towards you, if you do so I highly suggest using Hunter Sense to Slow Down time when the bow is fully drawn to easily get a headshot.

You can get this at anytime during the level as long as you get five headshots within one minute using regular arrows (no fire, poison, or explosive arrows allowed). You must pick the challenge first. Note that this is 5 headshots in 1 minute, not 5 headshots in a row. If you keep moving, finding 5 solitary enemies will be easy enough and you can get this quickly. If you have trouble, do note that every 10 minutes or so, the game will spawn a group of enemies to rush at you regardless of whether you're still unseen or not. This may or may not be a good time to get it done but if so, consider finding a building with a long corridor to help funnel them. If you don't want to wait for the swarm, you can create a distraction (eg shooting oil barrels and gas canisters, throwing walkie talkies) and enemies will flock to it creating the opportunity for you. Once you manage 5 within that 1 minute, the challenge completes and your trophy unlocks right away.
According to the cards, something like: bow master (the card says that it simplifies aiming). And any "all skills" card
