The Chapter 1 boss, a giant robot, can be accessed directly by selecting Scene 4.
The object is to beat him without taking any damage. Most hits you take while cause your life meter to show up, so if that happens you'll need to retry. But don't retry by selecting the scene again. It's much faster to kill yourself, as the boss intro won't replay when you die and respawn.
Keep your electric bullets selected the whole time (switch to them via ). As soon as the fight begins, you'll have to hit three weak spots with electricity before he fires a beam from his mouth. Reload immediately after hitting the last weak spot.
Next, you need to damage his head enough to get him to reveal his true weak spot on his back. Aim primarily at his mouth so you can get early hits on the red fireballs he spits. If he spits those balls, you just need to quickly carve a path through them that allows you to dash forward (to avoid his bombs) or jump over his chest projectile.
You can tell a chest projectile is coming because he makes a specific sound and his chest glows. Learn the timing and double jump from left to right just as it's about to fire. He always shoots two chest blasts in a row, so be ready to avoid the next one as you get a few quick shots in.
If the boss fires bombs from the sky (indicated by red targets and an emergency sound), be anywhere but where they'll land! Hopefully they give you room to dash to safety. It's possible to avoid a bomb by double jumping, but very difficult. Try enough times and you'll get a good bombing sequence in which the bombs leave a clear space on the left or right. For most of us, that's the real key to beating this guy.
When he lurches forward and reveals the weak spot on his back, press to select Remote Control bullets and pilot your bullet into the second field. Aim it towards the target and press to fire at the weak point. You get a total of four tries while he's lurched. If you don't hit it in those four shots, he'll stand back up and you have to go through the whole process of hitting the electric spots and damaging his head again.
After three total hits on the weak spot, you'll win the battle. It's tough, but not unreasonable. I'm not too strong a gamer and I got it after fix or six tries. The Achievement should pop as the post-Chapter cinematic starts. Good luck!

The guide says it's better to die and respawn but the negates the achievement! You must restart the chapter to get the achievement. I did it perfect twice dying and respawning and the achievement did not pop. Restarted the chapter and did it perfect again and it popped immediateltly.
