Signpost #1: Northeast of Nottingham
When you fast travel here, turn and look across the field....that's where the bird spawns most of the time for me. Use your slow ability to snatch it out of the air. If it doesn't spawn right away, listen for the bird calls to point you in the right direction.

Signpost #2: South of Nottingham
Once you fast travel here, you'll want to head a little north to the pond area to the right of Sheriff's Soldiers' Camp (at least that's where I shot the bird the most times), but just listen for the bird calls. Don't listen to the crow as I think it it is just a sound que saying that the bird is in the area. I shot down most of the birds in the marked yellow area on the screenshot down below.

Thanks, great solution. I noticed the birds also have nest they land in for a few seconds. Might help those with terrible bow skills but otherwise very easy.

There's a couple of quicker birds. One near the northwestern entrance to Nottingham proper, follow the road away from the town and the bird will be in yer path; and another nesting in a tree near the southeastern signpost by Conisburgh Castle. Never tried the Northeast bird but the South bird is just too far from a fast travel point to be worthwhile

I found a very consistent bird spawn just outside of Robin's Village.
Head Southeast out of Robin's Village and cross the river. Now turn and face Northeast. Run in that direction and jump across the river to find a bird swooping down in front of you. Kill it and head back to where you started, rinse and repeat.

While you are running around, listen for the distinct sound of the crow's caw. These birds appear as black and white, and they fly in a set pattern between 3 and 4 perch/nest locations, usually in a tree or atop a rock. When you hear the bird's call, stop and look around; Hunter's Sense is helpful here too. If you no longer hear their call, then they flew too far away; but will return shortly, so identifying their flight pattern will help you find a good position to line up a bow shot.
When you spot one, use slow motion with the bow and lead them a little bit, the hit box on them is quite forgiving so anything close should score a 1 hit kill. Also, these birds will respawn in the same location with the same flight pattern after every load screen, so if you find a location close to a fast travel location then you can essentially grind it out rather quickly. This is easily done in the Barnsdale area around Robin's Village during regular gameplay.
Happy Hunting!
