So on the last door before you unlock chp. 1 complete. When you're clearing the map. You want to find a gold area shaded like the purple areas. Now there's a water fall here in the gold area. Run through the water fall to gain access to the secret area. You will see a 12ft monkey. You will then see a bō staff sticking up out a rock in front the monkey. Collect it and it will unlock the achievement

When you’re exploring the Oasis Stage after the Canyons, you’ll find an orange shaded part of the map, similar to the purple corrupted parts. This is before the checkpoint room in the Oasis. Orange segments usually indicate secret parts of the level, and the one in the Oasis is a Waterfall with an entrance concealed by water. When you go through, you’ll find a friendly robot asking for swim trunks, but more importantly, a javelin/similar sharp implement. Pick it up, and you’ll have unlocked both the Ranger character and the achievement.
