How to unlock the Million Point Club achievement in Rock Band 2 - Definitive Guide
The easiest song to do this is Give it Away with a Full band or 3 People.
Full band:
You can have Guitar,Bass, and Vocals(talky parts only in song) on expert and drums on medium, hard,or expert
3people:
Have Guitar,Bass, and Vocals play expert.Vocals can't fail in this song since its only talky parts so you just hum the whole song on vocals.
You can do Guitar expert and bass medium and vocals expert.
Note:Always have vocals on expert.
Do one of these two ways and you should have this achievement in the bag.

Absolutely spot on, this is how we did it. Give It Away is an ideal song for this or Bachman-Turner with 3 or 4 players. All I would add is that, with either achievement, communication is key. If you're not around the same Xbox get those headsets on and get a plan going!

Play the song PDA
One does not even have to do well to get well over 1 million with 3 ppl on hard or expert difficulty

If you have the RB1 songs, you can do it with only 2 people on Green Grass and High Tides.
I did it with Expert Bass(about 98%) and Hard Drums(about 80-90%), with a final score of about 1.1 million. Just make sure to use overdrive at the same time where possible.
Obviously you could do it with more people and drop the difficulties down.

Rambin' Man
Hard Guitar/Bass and Drums should do it
I got 1.4 million with 3 of us on expert...

You can do this with 4 people, and two of them can be bad at the game.
You'll need a decent guitar player on Expert and a good Drummer on Expert.
Play Watcha Want by the Beastie Boys. Vocals and Bass should be on expert as well. Talkie only for Vocals, and Bass is two strums on green, just repeated through the entire song.
I was able to get 1.2mil

I got this on Panic Attack. All you need are 2 good expert guitar/bass players and a decent drummer on hard. We got 1.2m and the drummer failed twice! Just make sure you all go into overdrive at the same time as much as possible, it helps a lot.
If you don't have the RB1 songs imported, the best song for this achievement with only 3 players (preferably with guitar, bass, and drums, since the vocals are kept to a minimum) would be Lazy Eye. The song is a lot longer than most songs on RB2 and provides a lot of good opportunities for unison bonuses along with a very long guitar solo which can provide a lot of points. When I did it, the three of us were on expert guitar, drums, and bass, and we scored approximately 1.3 million. That being said, we only got about 95% each, so this could be done on hard as well if you feel more comfortable with it. Just remember to rock out together on parts where you all feel safe with your 4x multiplier. To determine these times, it would probably be best to test the waters out on this song once and then play it properly.
Happy achievement hunting!

My band has gotten 1mil on Coheed & Cambria's 'Welcome Home' with Expert Guitar/Bass, Hard Vocals, and Medium Drums.
Of course, that only helps you in RB2 if you imported your RB1 songs. ^_^

Instead of any one song, just go online in quickplay with a full band. First try the people I got matched with and me got well over 1 million points. In face almost every song online I had more than 1 million points. I think this may be because of so many people online playing on expert.
Even easier song is So Whatcha' Want?
Expert Bass - Nothing but Green notes and slow strumming.
Expert Vocals - Talkie song, humming will clear it.
Expert Guitar - Not even close to expert level, closer to Medium with Orange added
Medium or higher Drums - Find a good drummer that can keep a streak running.
All in all, you can have two beginners, one medium player, and one skilled player to get this.

Green Grass and High Tides with a bassist/guitarist on expert and an expert drummer.
I'll play drums if you honestly can't find anybody else.

I don't think my solution is better, but I just wanted to put down what I did.
We played Give it Away (RHCP) with 4 instruments.
I played the guitar on Hard.
My wife played Bass on Hard and Sang Vocals on Expert.
My 13 yr old son played Drums on Easy.
Our final stats were:
Expert Vocals: 97%
Hard Guitar: 98%
Hard Bass: 79%
Easy Drums: 96%
Point Total; 1,068,093
That's not a typo, our baby started crying during the song, and my wife stopped playing for a part of the song and only got 79% on Bass, and we still got it.
Considering how badly we played the bass, I'd bet you could even play that on medium and still get it.

I got it on Aqualung, with Expert Guitar, Bass, and Drums.
Our boosting team today succeeded at clearing a million on Tangled Up in Blue with the guitar on Hard and the other three players on Medium. We hit all of the unity bonuses, but we didn't full combo by any means. Every other unity bonus lines up with the vocalist getting enough star-power to activate. This means that you should activate after every unity bonus, and essentially go 6x-8x-6x-8x all the way through the song. If the guitarist can hold a combo during the multiplier, you should hit 850,000 during the bridge after the third verse, and easily clear a million between the fourth and fifth verses.
I got mine Down With The Sickness, Drums - Hard, Singer on Easy, Guitar - Expert (99%), bass on expert and you are golden.
Lazy Eye by far is the best song to do it on. Just got this achievement last night on the first try. Guitar, Bass, and Drums were on hard. Vocals was on easy, I believe, and we scored almost 1.4 mil.
You don't need a 4 person band in this song but it is MUCH easier with 4 people. If you have people that are good playing with you you can get this on many different songs. The easiest is So What'cha Want by The Beastie Boys as its one of the easiest songs in the game and you can get well near 1.5 million points. Remember to use your bands overdrive at the same time so that you get a x8 multiplier instead of a x6 or x4 multiplier. This trophy takes some teamwork. Guitarist and bassist shouldn't use their overdrive until the drummer does and the vocalist should use it when everyone else has it deployed. Here's a video of the song and it also demonstrates how to use your overdrive correctly (thanks to rykuzeath).
Got it with 2 Players but 3 instruments. Did it in "Give It Away - Red Hot Chili Peppers" with Guitar on Expert and Bass on Expert, but used Vocals on Expert and we let the Microphone in front of the fan. All the song is talky part (Except the final part so Vocals will have 98%), so the fan did his work so good, including activating Overdrive for itself. Got 1,252K points activating Guitar and Bass Overdrive at the same time and let the Vocals for itself, if you activate the Overdrive at the same time as Vocals is much better for the x6 Band Multiplicator.
After reading these guides I was concerned that it may be a tough achievement as so many guides talk about "Expert"
If you and your friends are good but not Expert there is hope.
I recently completed this with our band playing Give it Away. This song is quite a bit easier on Hard compared to Expert.
Difficulty was
Vocals Expert - All talking. This was done by our bassist who had the mic against the speaker but sufficiently close to him so he could yell into it and activate some star power.
Drums were on Medium.
Guitar and Bass were on Hard.
Our first run through was fairly poor and we had 880,000. Our next run through was 1,140,000.
The key difference was hitting the unison bonuses and keeping a fairly good streak going. We all missed the odd note or two but our results were all around 98-99%
So if you can't play Expert Guitar but can get a near FC on Hard then there is hope.

I got this on Teenage Riot with 3 players, playing Medium Drums, Expert Guitar and Expert Bass. Almost got it when the guitar and bass player played on hard but we ended up getting 997,000.
This obviously has to be done with more than one person, probably a whole band. Just find a good song to do it on, and find good people to play with. You should pick a song where, if you are in a four man band, you get at least 250K each. Use your starpower together, you can get a 4X multiplier for each person, 6X for the bassist and 8X for the band multiplier. Some song suggestions are Hungry Like the Wolf by Duran Duran, So Watcha Want by the Beastie Boys and Green Grass and High Tides by the Outlaws from RB1.

This trophy must be done in a group, preferably with a full team. Find a good song and good people to play it with. For a group of four people, you need to find a composition in which everyone can score at least 250,000 points. Don't forget to use "starpower" to get multipliers, everyone can get 4X, bass player 6X, and group 8X. The easiest ones to get are "Hungry Like the Wolf" by Duran Duran and "So Wat'cha Want" by the Beastie Boys.

This trophy is very easy to get with two people! You only need to find one assistant. We choose the song Red Hot Chili Peppers - Give It Away, since in this song there is no key for vocals, it is quite possible to perform a trick with headphones (for those who don’t know, you need to put headphones on the microphone or put it near the speaker so that the song plays itself ) we select the expert difficulty level for vocals, one player selects bass, the second guitar - it is not necessary to play at the expert difficulty level, it is quite suitable and hard is enough to play at 97-98% and at the same time start overdrive.
