How to unlock the The Beat Goes On achievement in Rock Band 2 - Definitive Guide
Probably best to do 38 of the beats on 180 BPM. Have a friend come over and do the bass pedal for you while you concentrate on the pads if you can't seem to get it. You'll also unlock the "Beat It" achievement along with this one if you have not already done so. Achievement will unlock after the last beat is finished.

Great Idea to get someone else to do the Foot Pedal :) though I could not get the rolls on 180 and even took awhile on 100

I can only get them at 60, maybe 80. 100 seems like a huge step!

This is not an easy achievement to get. I am a middle of the road Expert drummer and I have gotten extremely frustrated over this achievement. The best advice I can give is to go for the half on 180 beats per minute. In order to get through the tougher ones, I would practice at a slower speed (140) until I could get it no problem and then play it through five or six times at 200 bpm, so that it would seem slower when I got to 180. Depending on your drumming style and skill different patterns will be easier for you so I won't recommend specific ones. Although I got this achievement solo, getting a friend to do the pedal while you do the hands will make this achievement much easier (although admittedly it takes some of the fun out of it).

Can you explain what it means to complete a beat? I did 73 of them at 180 BPM and all 76 at 140 BPM and no achievements. I did the black and blue section at 50%+ are you supposed to do more than that?

The best idea is to just do half on 180 (or 200)bpm. Play through all of them and you should probably have at least 30 done. Now, go back and play all the ones you were close to getting and try again. Personally, I got stuck at 36 for a little while, but a couple of tries and I got it.
For these two achievements, you need to beat half the beats on the higher speed, or all the beats on a lower speed. I recommend doing half on the higher difficulty, as some of the beats get pretty ridiculous to get 100% on. A tip is to have a friend do the tricky parts for you, as some of the snares and bass hits are off beat, while you focus on the regular cymbals. These two are stackable, so if you do half the beats at 180BPM, you get both beat achievements.
If your not good at the drums this will be a tough one. Go to DRUM TRAINER just like the Beat It! trophy but now you have to do everything faster. I found it much easier to do half at 180BPM rather than all at 100BPM. If your really struggling on this one you should get a friend to come over and do the footpedals while you focus on the notes or vice-versa. You need to get 100% on the beat to have it count as completed. You know its completed when on the bar on the side the drum for 180BPM is highlighted green. If you get this trophy you get Beat It! as well, they are stackable.

For these two trophies in Drum Trainer Beat mode, you need to either hit half of the hits at fast speed or all of the hits at low speed. I recommend focusing on half the hits on a high difficulty level, since some hits are quite heavy and getting 100% will not be easy. The easiest way to make these trophies is to invite a friend to visit and share the task with him. A friend presses the pedal, and you completely focus on hitting the drum. If you receive this trophy, you will automatically receive the Beat It! trophy.
