How to unlock the Vocal Virtuoso achievement in Rock Band 3 - Definitive Guide
This can be done in Hard or Expert, but for obvious reasons Hard is easier and must be Solo singing, not harmonies.
Now if your a good singer you will have no problem, otherwise here is a really good trick to get you through it.
The trick with this is to find songs that don't require pitch, and just let you talk it through, this way as long as there is sound in the Microphone it will count. Best trick is to drag a Fan/Air Conditioner in front of your microphone.
The only problem is that most are through DLC or exporting so you will need your bigger library first.
Songs recommended to do so with are:
Rock Band 1-
- "Sabotage" - Beastie Boys
Rock Band 2-
- "So Wha'cha Want" - Bestie Boys
- "Testify" - Rage Against The Machine
Downloadable Content-
- "Gay Bar" - Electric Six
- "Thank You Boys" - Jane's Addiction
- "Drop It Like It's Hot" - Snoop Dogg
- "Ridin' In My Chevy" - Snoop Dog
- "The Great Southern Trendkill" - Pantera
- "Suicide Note Pt. II" - Pantera
- "The Underground In America" - Pantera
- "(Reprise) Sandblasted Skin" - Pantera
- "Laid To Rest" - Lamb Of God
- "Bulls on Parade" - Rage Against The Machine
- "Guerilla radio" - Rage Against The Machine

- "Sleep Now in the Fire" - Rage Against the Machine
- "King of Rock" - Run-DMC
- "Raining Blood" - Slayer

- "Frontier Factory" - Freen in Green
- "Everyone I Know is an Alcoholic" - Robby Suavé

In addition to what is noted above, here are the songs I've done with 100% vocals easily (with the exception of one at 99%) and gold stars.
DLC:
"Visions" by Abnormality (available as part of the Rock Band Free Pack 01)
"No Sleep till Brooklyn" by Beastie Boys
"Thank You Boys" by Jane's Addiction (Nothing's Shocking (Album) pack - vocals are at the end of the song)
"Bombtrack" by Rage Against the Machine (Rage Against the Machine Pack 01)
"Killing in the Name" by Rage Against the Machine (Rage Against the Machine Pack 01)
"Sleep Now in the Fire" by Rage Against the Machine (Rage Against the Machine Pack 01)
"Give It Away" by Red Hot Chili Peppers (available as DLC single OR Rock Band Blitz soundtrack export - 99% is easily obtainable - only the last phrase is the hardest to hit)
"King of Rock" by Run-DMC
"Raining Blood" by Slayer (Slayer Pack 01)
Rock Band Network DLC:
"The Hourglass Paroxysm - Part II" by Chaotrope (vocals come in after 4 minutes)
"Frontier Factory" by Freen in Green (the full song heard in "Rock Band Network Megamix 01")
"Everyone I Know is an Alcoholic" by Robby Suavé (the full song heard in "Rock Band Network Megamix 01")
"Cookie Monster" by XTT

Can you confirm that Visions is actually in your RB3 songs list? I exported over RB2 and Visions isn't there, Testify and So Wha'cha Want are in my songs, but no Visions. I read that there were 14 songs in total that don't export over from RB2, is that one of them?

Id try and do songs from the RB3 disc if you can (helps toward the 25 songs played)
A few really good choices are:
Jerry Was a Racecar Driver (do this on expert - EASY 5* - mostly talking)
Imagine
Before i Forget (another good 5* expert candidate)
Yoshimi
Free Bird
Crazy Train
The Primus, Slipknot and Ozzy are good candidates for Expert 5* - good if you need them for 5* Expert career.

Although this has to be done on solo vocals it doesn't mean you can only have 1 singer. Connect 2 or 3 mics, choose solo vocals and everyone sing. With 3 vocalists filling the pie up it's a lot easier, each vocalist even gets their own pointer
The game will pick up whoever is on pitch at any given time during each line, so if you nail half a phrase and a friend nails the other half, it fills the pie completely and you get the awesome.
It's also brilliant for the really long sustained notes, if you run out of breath, as long as someone else is still singing you can have a breath and join back in
Please feel free to comment

Although the description seems pretty straight-forward, there's a catch: It has to be "Vocals" and not "Harmonies".
Racking up 6 good scores on Harmonies won't trigger the achievement.

In addition to Kennansoft's song choices (except visons)
these songs are easy to sing since they have no pitch
do these on hard or expect
drop it like its hot-snoop dogg
Ridin' In My Chevy-snoop dog
The Great Southern Trendkill-pantera
Suicide Note Pt. II- pantera
The Underground in America-pantera
(Reprise) Sandblasted Skin
laid to rest- lamb of God
bulls on parade- rage against the machine
guerilla radio-rage against the machine
comment if theres more no pitch songs besides mine and Kennansoft

Choose 6 low tier songs for this one.
You can do this on Expert but it is far easier doing it on Hard. You are better off choosing songs that suit your voice than you are trying to work from a list of easy songs. In general though, you should try the zero dot songs first. If you are having trouble, hum instead and change the pitch of the note so that it is an octave up or down, since the game will allow for a “C” in any octave to substitute for the “C” in the song. You can also sing ahead of the note to try and hit the pitch before it actually comes up.
