How to unlock the Axe Assassin achievement in Rock Band - Definitive Guide
This achievement is stackable and will be unlocked when you complete the Expert Tour... For those of you who can't yet beat expert, there are a few words of wisdom I can bestow upon you.
Firstly, if you're on an HDTV, calibrate your lag. It's almost always a little bit off, especially if you're using an HDMI cable. A great way to calibrate accurately if you have RB2 and the RB2 (or RB3) guitar is to go into Rockband 2 and do the automatic calibration. Then just use those numbers on Rockband 1.
There's not much advice on getting better besides practicing. Challenge yourself. If you need help with the hard tour then it's safe to assume you're stepping up from medium, so get used to moving your hand for the orange fret. It's also helpful to play easy songs with just your last 3 fingers, no pointer finger. If you're having trouble passing a difficult HOPO part then it might help to try to strum every note or to button mash the fret buttons. Even the best guitarists button mash, and I think refining your button mashing skills is a big part of getting better.
One more thing to note is that for hammer ons and pull offs, if you're not strumming them, make sure you hit the fret button at the time the note is passing. It may seem obvious, but I, personally, learned on GH3 where you could hold the fret from anytime before a HOPO note for it to count.
Practice up and have fun!

For people that played through Expert but were blocked by a song that was too hard, You only need to complete the group of songs on Hard that you didn't fully complete on expert.
So if like myself you were blocked by the last song "Green Grass and High Tides", all you have to do to unlock the Hard, Medium and Easy achievements for completing solo tour is to finish the Ninth set of songs (five songs) in Moscow.
