How to unlock the Platinum Artist achievement in Rock Band - Definitive Guide

Becoming a Platinum artist in Rock Band 1 is much more difficult then doing it on Rock Band 2, since you must have two active instruments locally and both must be on expert, it's no surprise this achievement is daunting.

If you're not doing this with another person I recommend the duo of Vocals/Bass. None of the songs on bass are too difficult (Nothing like Green Grass for guitar or Run to the Hills or Won't Get Fooled Again for drums) for the vocals part watch out for Foreplay/Long Time, I Get By, I'm So Sick, and Can't Let Go. Even if you are doing this with a friend I still recommend doing it with Vocals/Bass unless you can consistently beat the harder songs on guitar and/or drums.

Another tip is play the harder songs on quickplay BEFORE you attempt this, there is nothing worse than getting to the final stretch only to get stuck and being forced to quit.

Other useful tips: Take breaks! Take advantage of the fact that there is no Bladder of Steel in this game, pause, don't be afraid of failing if you need a break, there are no penalties. The Endless Setlist is located in Moscow and should be the final event you unlock when it comes to fans and stars. And I cannot stress this enough, play the harder songs before you try this.

I don't recall the total time it takes to complete this but it should be around 4 hours.

gimme shelter i actually found the hardest on vocals and run to the hills can be tricky for people that are used to never ending triplets on bass and foreplay was easy for vocals if you know the song just many high pitches thats it

^ Yeah, I sing in falsetto by default since it's more accurate that way, so Foreplay / Long Time is pretty damn easy. I also screech out Boston tunes all the time while I'm driving around anyway ;)

Timmy and the Lords of the Underworld also sucks on vocals, most of the talky parts are broken.

Do the difficulties stack on the endless setlist on Rock Band ? If I beat the endless setlist on expert will I also get the achievements for beating it on lower difficulties like I did in solo career ?

I definitely agree with finallife6 that Gimme Shelter is the hardest song on vocals by far. If you can beat that and run to the hills on bass I'm fairly certain you can do the entire setlist.

I finished it with my buddy in just over 4 and a half hours (we stopped after the first 8 because we played the Hall of Fame Induction first). I played drums and he played guitar. The first 40 songs are a cakewalk and the next 5 are only moderate. The rest seem to be ok on guitar but if you haven't been trying 100% on the previous songs you'll have no problem.

Guitar and drums are a PAIN as a duo. I recommend guitar and bass as they are easier than most. I used a modified version of the sock mod and it worked wonders on my RB1 kit; however I failed out once on Run to the Hills but that was the extent of our troubles.

The only real song on guitar that can be a pain is Green Grass and High Tides. Both of us kept our Overdrive at 75% full throughout the whole song, he only used his Overdrive when he was in the red and I kept all of mine saved in case he did fail, which didn't happen.

Before you try this play the last 8 songs in Band Quickplay (sorted by difficulty) because you'll be a little more familiar with them and you should find out what parts you need to save your Overdrive for. Other than that, take breaks every 15-20 songs and you'll snag this in about 4 and a half hours.

Let me start by saying that this achievement should be worth way more than 25G. This is unlocked after completing the Hall of Fame Induction. It is also located in Moscow and denoted with a platinum record. The set consists of 58 songs. That is every song in the game, including bonus tracks. This isnt hard as much as it is long and tedious. These are all played back to back, no breaks. From start to finish this will take about 4 Hours and 30 Minutes, or at least that's how long it took me. If it helps any, the last two songs are Run to the Hills and Won't Get Fooled Again. See "Lord of the Strings", "AN-I-MAL!!!", or "Virtuoso" for help on your respective instruments. Happy playing
