The game is still fairly generous on medium so you don't need perfect pitch or timing to get through. If you're struggling on a particular song then put it on practice and just listen to it to try and learn it. You can hum instead of singing the lyrics if it helps.

The average player shouldn't have too much trouble getting this achievement since it's only medium difficulty.
TIP: A smart thing is to get familiar with the game before you go for the vocals, maybe complete the guitar and drum tour before. Why should you? You should do that because it's almost impossible to try and sing a song that you've never heard about or haven't learned yet. But if you know the song and you feel comfortable with it it really saves you a lot of pain especially when going for higher difficulties such as hard and expert.
