How to unlock the Epic Session achievement in Rocksmith 2014 Edition - Definitive Guide
This achievement will be awarded for playing session mode continuously for 60mins.
Session mode can be great for short periods of time but for 60mins without stopping can be a real chore as you must be making sounds the entire time.
This is exactly the same as the 360 version and I followed Slaytalllica's solution and I am posting it here with their permission as they are not upgrading to the xbone version and it really is the simplest solution so if you own the 360 version shoot over to that solution and give them a thumbs up.
I found a method that lets you complete sessions without having to do anything.
Note: This achievement has to be done fully in one single session. (It is not accumulative.)
Enter Session Mode.
Now the trick is, you want to have a continuous buzzing noise coming out of your TV.
In order to do this, first unplug your guitar cord.
Then, put it back into the guitar a tiny bit. Let the metal part of the cord slightly rest inside the slot.
If you do this correctly, you will be hearing a buzzing sound coming from the TV and the band will continue playing at the lowest intensity.
(You know that buzzing sound you get when you plug and unplug your cord, that is the same sound you are trying to achieve.)
The game recognizes this sound as if you were playing, and it will count for any session goals or achievements.
Make sure that you can hear the band playing, and the intensity meter line should be yellow.
If you can't hear the band and the intensity meter line is white, re-load the game.
Now if you have a wired controller just leave it for 60 mins but if you have a wireless controller be sure to move the left or right thumbstick at regular intervals because if the controller turns off the game will pause and you will have to restart the 60mins again.

What headset are you using?
I use turtle beach xofour and my controller will turn off with them plugged in.
Glad my guides are informative for you guys.

Just wanted to add that if you plug headphones into the wireless controller it won't turn off automatically. Thanks for the guides!
Update - Turns out this is wrong where Rocksmith is concerned. If you are watching a movie the controller will not timeout when headphones are attached but this doesn't hold true for the game for some reason.

A second, Much Much easier option. Is as follows:
Unplug your guitar or bass, and lay it on the ground. Plug it in just enough that the cable is hanging loose and making that terrible noise. Leave it there. During Session mode, It will be just enough to keep the backing band playing and count toward your one hour of playtime. You will also get the two secret achievements for

Easy trophy if you have time, patience, and don't get bored quickly while soloing over a digital backing band. Just play Session Mode for an hour in one sitting. You have to actually play guitar for an hour, you can't turn in it on and leave it running while doing something else. You can switch inputs on your television and watch something else as long as you keep playing.
