if you want to idle (kinda) this achievement, you can set the root to E and play the open strings. give it a good smack every few seconds.

Do you need a full band or will the session drums be adequate for the cheevo?

Nothing too magic here. Just open a session and strum for 12 mins. If that seems burdensome. Lay the guitar down and unplug the input cable, slide it slightly in until the needle starts jumping and the guitar is making that really terrible scratching radio noise. turn the speak off and let it ride. This will also help with the other achievements
