How to unlock the Try It, You Might Like It achievement in Rocksmith 2014 Edition - Definitive Guide

This cheevo will be awarded for playing all Rocksmith 2014 songs included on the disc at least once.

Obviously this will take a long time as you will have to play all 50 tracks.

My preferred method of working my way through the list was to press cn_RB and sort the list into order of tuning and start working my way through all the songs that are in E standard tunings, then Drop D and so forth.

My reason for sorting them this way is if you sort them by Recommended (which is great as it will always put a song you have not played at the top) you will find your constantly retuning your guitar and thus wasting time.

Also be aware if you have the RS1 pack and any DLC these do not count towards this cheevo.

Do you need to play all the on disk songs that are unlocked via missions?

Just the in disc songs. Not unlockable ones

I've not heard of this particular cheevo being glitched so chances are you have overlooked a song.
On learn a song set the order to mastery using LB or RB, can't remember which off the top of my head and go down the list of the songs. Any song that is at 0% and also look at play count. Make sure all songs are played and have some kind of % and it should unlock.
Hope this helps.

You sure you don't need to do unlockable songs?

I am 100% sure as I unlocked this long before I started to unlock any additional songs.

Or perhaps if you played long enough and unlocked some songs you might need to play them too but I cant confirm that as like I said before I unlocked the cheevo before unlocking songs.

I saw the problem, even though I was on 55% mastery on a song the play count still said 0 for some reason. Thanks anyway!

That's a good question and I am not sure but I would say probably yes because if you play a song on lead path and it shows play count of 1 and mastery of 50% and then you change to rhythm the play count and mastery show at 0 so I would say to save time do all songs once on 1 path only for this cheevo

You should mention that you shouldn't attempt to get this achievement via the rhythm guitar path, as there's a few songs that only have lead guitar and bass. So now I'm going through and playing every song on bass to pop this. shock

Just to confirm, I played through a mix of bass, lead and rhythm to get this.

You can definitely use a mix of all 3 guitar paths, and yes, there are a few tracks that do NOT have a rhythm track.
But, it's TERRIFIC advice to sort by TUNING and LAST PLAYED. That way you only have to tune every so often, and all the songs that haven't been played will sort to the bottom.
+1 from me.

You may have played that song in score attack which would give you a percentage but not a mark in the play count. Glad you got the cheevo.

Do you have to play all the songs on the same path?

To avoid actually playing through each of the songs, you can just create a song list of the songs you still need and let it play out in nonstop play without having to play any notes.

First, go into ‘Learn a Song’ - Press LB, select ‘Edit song list’ - Press A on each of the songs you still need to add them to the list (A to remove any that are on there you’ve already played). Once you’ve done that, press B to go back to the main menu.

Next, go into ‘nonstop play’ - change ‘play time’ slider to 90 minutes - change ‘song list’ slider to song list 1 - change ‘tuning’ slider to E standard - Select ‘start nonstop play

Once non stop play starts, it will continually run through the songs with the selected tuning in the song list without having to manually change songs. Once it has run through all the E standard songs, back out and change the tuning slider to Drop D etc. and run through the next set.

The game will have your mastery for the song at 0% after it’s finished, but it will still count as a play.

Additional info:

If your controller disconnects during a song, it will not play the next song until you reconnect it, so keep your controller plugged in to the charger if you are stepping away from your console.

You don’t need to tune your guitar when you move on to the next tuning group. You can just press X to skip tuning and it will still count as a play when the song is done.

There are certain songs that will have a tuning that cannot be selected in the tuning slider, so you will have to manually select these songs to play them.
