How to unlock the Try It, You Might Like It achievement in Rocksmith 2014 - Definitive Guide

You only have to play one of lead/rhythm/bass once and you can mix as much as you want between Learn A Song, Score Attack and Non-stop play. There is a small number next to the title of each song, which indicates how many times you have played it, however this number only shows the amount of times you have played the song's arrangement for whatever instrument you are using when viewing the setlist. You will have to go through the setlist with every instrument and write down the ones you have played or the ones you miss to keep track on your progress towards the trophy. You can also sort the setlist by how many times you have played the songs to make it easier.

By failing a song in Score attack, the number will increase just as if you finished the song normally, but this will not count towards the trophy. There still is a quicker method though found by VectorShift, this method will not work for the PS4-version of the game:

  1. Start any song in Learn A Song and press to open riff repeater.
  2. Tap and to mark the last section of the song.
  3. Start riff repeater and stop riff repeater.
  4. Press to resume song, the song will then finish without you having to play a note.

This method is the quickest method towards the trophy, but it will not affect the play counter in-game so by using this method you will have to keep track manually. No unlockable songs or DLC songs you might have downloaded are needed. However this method does not work for every song in the game:

1. For the Try It, You Might Like It , the trick mentioned worked for some songs and not for some others. But while I was doing the missions stuff later I found out why.... if you use the riff repeated to play the last sections of the song and those sections are "not long" it will not count. To put it simple, if by the end of the song the game doesn't rate your performance with "Great Performance", "Need more practice", and etc.. it will not count (the same if you're doing a mission, even if you reach the mission target it will not mark as mission completed). When this happens you need to wide more the range of sections to play for that song.

The description of the trophy speaks for itself.

The best way to get the trophy is in Learn A Song mode.

Moreover, all songs must be played in 3 variations on solo, rhythm and bass

Important! The track must be played from start to finish (not in riff repeater mode), only then will it be counted. You can find out how many times a track has been played under its name in the lower left corner next to the note symbol. I got it when I played all the tracks on the lead (solo), on the rhythm and bass after that there is no need to play all the tracks.

The hint above is incorrect: the trophy came out as soon as I played (listened to) all the songs on bass only. You don't need to play 3 modifications.

For the trophy, you don’t need to play every song in all three modes (My Way: rhythm, solo and bass) - just every song in any of the roles. It also doesn't matter whether it's the "Learn a song" section of the game or the "Score Attack" game. The list of songs does not have filters to display only songs from the main game (without DLC and songs from the first Rocksmith), but sorting by already scored points helps - By Mastery. In this case, at the top of the list you will have songs with a score of 0%. Good luck.
