How to unlock the Beat Harmonics achievement in Rocksmith - Definitive Guide

Harmonics are apparently a bit glitchy. If you're having problems getting them to register, instead of playing the seventh fret harmonic, try playing the 19th fret note of the same string. So if you have a 7 on the G string, just play the actual 19th fret on the G string. This got me from struggling to get past wave 2 to getting the achievement first try.

You are my hero for finding this out! Harmonics are what I have the most trouble with and I thought I would never be able to get this achievement! Im trying this out first thing next time I play the game!

It worked perfectly! The only thing I had to worry about was remembering the pattern! Thanks so much!

I was having an issue getting my harmonics to register and I think I know why. When you play a harmonic and the game registers it, immediately mute the string with your picking palm or with your fretting hand and *then* play the next harmonic. When too many harmonics are being played, the game has a difficult time registering what's being played. After I muted the strings, I didn't have to hit the harmonics multiple times and got this achievement first try.

I had the same trouble with the same fix. I wanted to add though, you can pause the game in between rounds and write down the colors if you're having trouble memorizing the notes.

I got this after a few tries. Hammer the 19th fret without strumming. You should have your volume on your guitar turned all the way up. I got almost all perfects by doing this for big points.

I found a very easy way of getting this cheevo with minimul effort and only took me a few tries.

If your fortunate enough the have the bass expansion then try this with either a bass guitar or emulated bass using a normal guitar.

For some reason the harmonics seem to register a lot easier with this method than any other method i tried.

While i played this challenge i would write down the order the colours go in, the game gives you enough time to strum the order then after you strum the last note you can write it down and have enough time to pay attention to which note comes next in the sequence, just remember this colour and then write down at the end again.

This method only took me 4-5 attemps to get the cheevo.
Hope this helps.

This is simply a game of Simon Says. This is performed while playing harmonics on the 7th fret. This game tests your harmonics ability. Consult the Harmonics Challenge in the game for information and a video to learn how to properly pull off a harmonic.

The game will start with a single harmonic on a random string. If performed correctly, you will reach level 2, where it will add another harmonic on a second string. If you perform an incorrect harmonic, the bomb will start a quick countdown and will explode if the harmonic is not played within a few seconds. The trouble you'll have is that the continued ringing of a correct harmonic will register the next one as incorrect. To combat this, quickly mute the harmonic after you play it.

You will need to reach level 12 to get to the point requirement. Unless you have an incredible memory, I highly suggest writing down pattern as you go.

Having trouble? Rest assured there is an easier way to do this. A regularly played note on the 19th fret is the same as playing a harmonic on the 7th fret. So if you are asked to play a harmonic on the purple string (High E), instead play a normal note on the same string on the 19th fret.

This game is like Simon Says, so you have to memorize the color and fret number of the game. However, playing Harmonics is strange difficult for some people to grasp; you have to touch the string at the fret, but the string cannot touch the fretboard. As soon as you strum, let go of the finger and let it ring. It may take practice, as it is one of the harder techniques in the game.

If this is too difficult, resort to the pause method mentioned at the beginning of this guide. It also may help to write down the sequence, pause the game, and prepare yourself.

Perhaps the most difficult minigame, if you don't cheat. Reading harmonics by the game is very glitchy, and the technique itself is not very easy to perform.

Practice the harmonics technical exercise to acquire the required skill level. Also carefully look at the manual for the exercise, there are many small clarifications on the technique that you may not notice the first time. For example, where exactly to play the harmonica, how to press the string, etc. If everything is still complicated, watch YouTube on the issue of harmonics, there are many lessons and manuals there.

When playing, for correct reading, it is necessary to mute the strings after the game has counted the execution of the harmonic, and this is the most important thing in this exercise.

You can use the classic pause technique to write down the order of the harmonics on paper, practice it, and then play it.

If you don't go through it completely honestly, then everything becomes much simpler:

It is proposed to replace the harmonic with a simple note. Instead of playing the harmonica on the 7th fret, just play the 19th fret of the same string.

In this case, play the strings carefully one at a time and, of course, write down the sequence of strings.

In general, don’t rush through this game, there’s a lot of time. Don't pay too much attention to the noise of the bomb either. Just slowly play the strings one after another, remembering to mute them.
