How to unlock the Furious Plucker achievement in Rocksmith - Definitive Guide

I found this achievement easier to do on bass, you have 2 less lanes and it's easier to strum only one string ;)

On the guitar i got around 1 million but on my first bass attempt i got around 17 million.

agreed! much easier, and you can use 2 fingers to pluck, rather than strum, if you prefer. i started with fingers and then moved to the pick when my fingers were getting tired. got it first time also!

I used the bass mode too, used a pick (emulated bass mode) and because of the 4 strings it barely changes. I ended up getting 47 million first time because of these easier aspects.

I'm going to explain what I did. It isn't probably the easiest way to get the achievement but you'll feel better getting it legit like I did. Only took me one try too, no pausing needed!

Sit down with your guitar while watching TV and just alternate pick the E cord (red string). Start slow hitting the cord up and down. Speed up as you get better. When your arm starts to hurt, take a 10-20 second break and start right back up again. Do this at least a few times then you can take longer breaks. Once you feel comfortable with the E cord start moving up and down the strings alternate picking each one for a few seconds before moving on. When you get to the point your arm doesn't hurt any longer, your good to play the arcade version.

I did this for one afternoon and a morning on a weekend. I didn't practice for this game mode though, I did it cause I wanted to get better. At the time of practicing, I didn't know this arcade/achievement even existed. You might need the same mentality I had when going into this. Don't think of the achievement, just try to get better. After all, that is what this game is about right?

I hope this will help some of you out! Goodluck!

This achievement will wear out your arm for sure! I got this one with pure dedication, but I do have a few of tips that might help you get it.

-Keep your controller handy to quickly pause the game if you arm starts cramping up.

-Don't stop strumming when the highlighted string changes. You may not move as fast, but at least you are still moving.

-Use your fretting hand to mute all of the other strings not being played.

Good luck.

I listened to a lot of surf rock which is known for "rapid (alternating) tremolo picking" so this achievement came a bit easier for me. My suggestion would be to listen to a few songs from some artists of that genre to get a feel for the picking. I included a video that shows a basic tremolo picking lesson. Its going to take some time to get a feel for it but once you do your gonna have some real fun! :] Also, according to the new patch your score will be disqualified from the leader board if you pause the game 2 times or more. Not sure on the effect of pausing towards the achievement since i got it without pausing, but it should be noted your score will not be uploaded.
Any additions, suggestions, or criticism is appreciated.

I held a controller in my left hand and picked the guitar with my right. Every time the string changed i would pause and get ready for the next string. extremely easy

This is a game based on tremelos and it heavily depends on your wrist action. You must be quick without much movement. Because of this, there aren't really any tricks; only with practice can you actually master the tremelo and this game.

This game is simply testing how fast you can perform a tremolo. Consult the in game Tremolo Challenge to learn how to properly perform a tremolo. The faster you perform the technique, the faster your ostrich will run. You perform this on the highlighted string which moves from string to string. If you fail to switch strings you will hit obstacles and it will prevent you from reaching time bonuses. This is a workout so feel free to pause as often as you need to rest your picking hand.

Tips for passing this game:
  • it is important to hold the pick correctly;
  • take advantage of the pause when your hand gets tired to take a break;
  • don't stop when the string changes. Let the ostrich not immediately change lanes to the desired lane, but it will run, and the points will go accordingly;
  • mute all strings that should not be played if you have problems hitting the right string.
In general, to beat the game you need to stupidly train your playing hand. Those. Having muffled the strings, we sit down and, listening to some TV series or movie, we stupidly hammer out some chord, increasing and decreasing the speed of the game. Change strings when playing, because... the sensations of playing the tremolo are very different on the sixth string and on the first, you need to be able to quickly adjust the force of movement. If your hand starts to hurt, take a 5-minute break and start again. A week of training and everything will work out.

If you have the Bass DLC play this mini-game there.
Plus - only 4 strings, instead of 6.
I took the trophy the first time I played the bass.
