How to unlock the Rumblesmith achievement in Rocksmith - Definitive Guide

You will get this achievement when you reach 20 million RSP in bass career. The bass career score is independent of the guitar career score. As with all the other bass achievements, you can do this one with a regular guitar in emulation mode, if you don't have a bass.

You get RSP for doing the technique challenges so I recommend you start with those and get all the golds for all the challenges. This will gain you a maximum of roughly 1.5 million RSP. I got about 1 million doing them:

RocksmithAce of BassThe Ace of Bass achievement in Rocksmith worth 151 pointsComplete all Bass Technique Challenges to Gold

Now switch to Events. You can edit the current event by pressing left on the D-pad when you are on the main page for the event, then selecting to customize the set list. Highlight and select a song and then choose replace, delete or add.

If you don't have the "Tone Designer Time Saver Pack" DLC, I recommend you concentrate on getting all the bass arrangements you can to at least 70k so that you unlock the Custom Tones for those songs. Change the songs in the event to ones you haven't 70k'd yet. Then qualify and play the event to get RSP and custom tones at the same time. I think unlocking tones for DLC songs counts towards the total required because there were still 2 or 3 on disc songs below 70k when this popped for me:

RocksmithBass HeadThe Bass Head achievement in Rocksmith worth 208 pointsCollect all bass gear

Next, if you're trying to get this done quickly, focus on Master events. Once you master 3 songs (100k + all sections mastered... or near mastered, it seems), you can create a set list for an event of only mastered songs. Playing a song in master mode (without the highway) doubles the score for the song.

The on disc ones that I found easy were:

- Angela
- Chimney
- Do You Remember
- Song 2*
- Where is My Mind

* Note: Song 2 is a very short song but it requires you to tune all strings a semitone down (E-flat tuning). If you don't want to tune down for it and then tune back up for the next song, leave your bass or guitar in E-flat tuning. When you are presented with the regular E-tuning screen, simply hold the first fret on each string while playing it. Similarly, shift all the songs, except Song 2, one fret higher. For example, in Where is My Mind, instead of playing it as R0, Y4, R4, R5, etc., play it as R1, Y5, R5, R6, etc. [ R = red or low E string, Y = yellow or A string, the number is the fret number, 0 = open ]. You can also use a capo, if you have one, on the first fret for the E-standard songs and remove it for Song 2. That makes playing the open notes easier. Thanks to Narkaotik for his comment which reminded me to add information on the tuning.

Here are some other songs that pedgz, Kvnrlnd, Narkaotik have suggested in the comments:

- (I Can't Get No) Satisfaction [ this one is a workout and tougher than most of the others on this list ]
- Breed
- Go With the Flow
- I Miss You
- Next Girl
- Vasoline

GWARRRRR recommends the Blink-182 DLC pack which contains 3 short and easy songs in standard tuning.

You can have up to 8 songs in a set list. If you find others, please leave them in the comments below.

The original 5 songs above plus the encores will net you over 1 million points per event once you're good at them. When you get over 200k for a song in Master mode, you will be pre-qualified for the song for the event. Otherwise, it seems to give you a target for the rehearsal of 150K.

Learn some songs and have fun!

The Incubus song is ridiculously easy, and for some reason a high-scorer. "Angela" w/ very few if any mistakes was netting me around 102,000 pts, But "I Miss You" was always around 150,000 pts, even when I was kinda half-assing it. The downside is that you have to listen to the dude's over-singing and cliche lyrics while playing the song. lol. My 2nd most hated song after Sigur Ros, but it came up, I played it, and was surprised by how little you had to do for all those points. Maybe all the sustains are worth a lot, IDK.

In my opinion Song2 on bass is a waste of time because you need to tune down every strings each time, but if you doesnt mind that, it's still the fastest and near the easiest.

I prefered doing 3 songs setlist in master, as I can choose 3 short song with the same tuning, wich would mean more RSP per hour.

My choice were, Breed, Go with the flow and Vasoline, a 9min setlist. With 1 encore, netting about 700-750k RSP, with 2 encore 800-900k RPS Sadly my encore was Higher Ground most of the time... (screw me for doing a highscore on it, now the game is like: Guess what dude, yeah yeah... Red Hot!)

If you want to spend M$P the Blink 182 pack is extremely easy, short length, and plays in standard tuning. This nets you roughly 650k RSP plus the encores.

Narkaotik is no more, GT changed to M39Blunt, so back to the subject: She don't needs "Vasoline" when I "go with the flow" while we're "Breed"ing... What could makes you choose other songs!! They're made to go well together!! Still having nightmare of Red Hot Chilly Willy encore tho...

FWIW, this is stackable with the Level 1-11 achievements for guitar as well. I bought the Bass DLC when I was at guitar's Level 5, and just playing through bass, I've unlocked each of the Level 6/7/8 chieves to this point.

From what I can tell, CanuckLefty is only partially correct. You can get level 1-10 from the regular guitar by playing bass, but since level 11 has separate bass and guitar achievements where level 1-10 doesn't, and it appears that level 11 doesn't pop both when you get to level 11 on bass, you will still need to get to level 11 on both guitar and bass.

if you want to really max it out, make it an 8-song set list in master mode, although the ones i picked are a bit challenging to master and i, myself, am still working out in mastering some of them. right now, my set list consists of:
angela
song 2
breed
do you remember
(i can't get no) satisfaction
where is my mind
next girl
chimney
assuming you net 150k per song, that nets you 1.2 million rsps - not including encores & double encores.
if you can manage to reach the 200k mark, that's 1.6 million plus rsps off the encore and possibly the double encore, too.

just remember that you are not just playing this to unlock achievements but to learn, improve, and master bass/guitar playing. nothing feels better than showing off you can play a certain song(s) all by yourself.

This will probably be your last trophy, the ranks are the same as in the main game. You will need a total of 20,000,000 RSP for rank 11. When you have finished all other trophies, you probably won't even be halfway to rank 11. This might seem like a really long trophy, but it won't take you much more than 5-7 hours if you are good.

Just as in the main game, by far the fastest way to rank up is to play master events. To play a master event, you must unlock master mode for at least three songs. Then customize the setlist of an event, so that all arrangements in the setlist have master mode unlocked. The quickest way to unlock master mode for a song is to first level up all sections in a song (Songs > Your song > Riff repeater > Leveler) and then when you have mastered every section of a song, score 100,000 points.

The more songs you can master the quicker you'll rank up. A great tip is to sync up a youtube video of the song and it'll be like playing normal mode. By doing this you technically don't need to «master» the song to be able to play it in master mode. If you can master 7-8 songs, you will get between 1,000,000 and 2,000,000 points for every event of 8-10 songs. It will take you some hours, but it's very doable.

These are some easy/short songs you might want to try to master:

- Angela
- I Miss you
- Use somebody
- Breed
- Where is my Mind?
- Go with the Flow
- High and Dry
- Vasoline
- Chimney
- Song 2 (Very short and easy, but Eb tuning)
- Space Ostrich (Very short, but a little harder than the others)

None of these are really hard to master, not even if you are new to guitar/bass.

This works the same way that "Rocksmith" does in the main game, and there's nothing different or additional to help for bass. Refer to "Rocksmith" above for some ways to help this go quicker.

Simpler songs:
  • Where is my Mind?
  • Do you remember
  • Next girl
  • Use somebody
  • Angela
  • Chimney
  • Vasoline

There are more options, but here you need to retune the guitar/bass to a different key, which is not very good. comfortable:
  • I miss you
  • Song 2
