How to unlock the Slide to Victory achievement in Rocksmith - Definitive Guide
Some tips:
If you don't know where to put the next block, go ahead and pause and look at where you are going next.
Try to match colors and make chain reactions. The bigger the chain the more xp you have.
Set some time aside, my 15 mil run took me 25 minutes.
Good luck
Though it's a bit obvious from the Techniques Challenge, if you paid attention to that, the point of this game is to practice/learn slides. Doing slides, you control the blocks in this game. The main piece of advice is that you should use the pause trick. Have a controller handy, and pause the game so you can decide what your next move should be and get ready to do the slide.
Sometimes these blocks are a bit glitchy. If the note isn't sounding loud enough, you can either lose control of the block, or worse, it will start to freak out and bounce around all over the place. If it starts to freak out, pause the game immediately and try to slide it again. The best way to handle these slides is to do a quick, brisk strum, wait half a second for the block to start glowing (indicating that you have control of it) and then do the slide. Don't slide it too fast, just do it smoothly. As soon as you have the block where you want it, palm mute the strings immediately. If the block isn't quite where you want it, pause the game and adjust it a bit. If it's positioned correctly, you can let the block go down or open strum all the strings and make it go manually.
So this is like a basic block breaker game that you have to control with your slide notes. Put blocks of the same color together and they will burst and give you points. Chain reactions will give you more points, seemingly exponentially, with the more blocks you burst. One thing to note is that you should pay attention to the colors at all times. The colors always change when you go up a level, including the block you are about to play. Also, the yellow and orange are VERY similar in color, so make sure to pay attention to the shapes within the blocks when you have both of these colors on the screen.
You don't get any bigger multipliers in later levels, per se, but you will gradually get more and more blocks on the screen and therefore get bigger chain reactions. When you get to the mid forties in level, you can get a million points in a single move. Which is good, because when you get to level fifty, the blocks become too fast to control at all. In summary you will need a bit of luck to reach the fifteen million, but the main point is to be very careful where you put the blocks. Think out each move, because there are times when one mistake will screw you over and you will have to restart the game. Good luck!
The achievement will pop a few seconds after you obtain the required score, during the game.
This is similar to Tetris in which you will need to match up colored squares. This tests your slide ability. The block will start in the center on top of your screen and you move it left or right by sliding to the matching fret number shown at the bottom. Once you have it properly lined up, you perform an open strum (strumming all strings without touching them) to have it drop quickly. You clear blocks by adding a matching colored block to three or more blocks below.
As you progress, the starting point for the block will move further down the fretboard. You will have to reach level 60 or beyond to reach the required points. Use the "Pause Cheat" to give you extra time to find the best spot to place blocks. Doing so will make it easy to get to the higher levels, but beware, the final couple will require you to be really quick to position blocks as they fall fast.
15,000,000 is very high on this game. The best recommendation I can give is to try to make a long combo as many times as you can early in the game. By level 45, you do notice a bit of a speed increase, and there will be 18 frets to work with (but you always start at fret 10 that late in the game, so it's easier to work with). The level you want to reach is around 60, but depends on how high your combos were.
Tips for passing this game:
- you see what color the next block will be in the field on the left of the screen, i.e. know the string and fret where the next move will begin. Place your fingers in this position before the previous block falls. It is also advisable at this moment to think about where to place the next block. If you think about each next move and prepare for it with your fingers on the previous block, then up to a certain point there will be no problems with reaction time.
- when a level change occurs, all colors change, but do not mix. Those. track. the block and the location of the cubes on the screen relative to each other remain. Accordingly, it is very important at the moment of changing the level not to relax and enjoy the picture, but to quickly choose a string of a new color.
- use the pause to think about where to place the next block if you didn’t have time to figure it out in advance (although in general the intellectual component in the game does not play a decisive role, it depends much more on luck and the speed and accuracy of your game);
- try to trigger chain reactions as early as possible in the levels, they give much more points;
- To throw the block down, play all the strings open (a "chord" on the open strings).
