How to unlock the The G.O.A.T. achievement in Rockstar Table Tennis - Definitive Guide
1) We had 2 secondary profiles play each other, with one profile winning every game, we played untill the winning profile stopped progressing levels (we got from 0 to level 25ish)
2) A third profile now starts beating the level 25 profile, this should get you close to 35-40.
3) Seem method now for the 4th profile and so on.
We were able to get the GOAT of a profile that was only level 44. I must stress that the number of games ur main profile has played really effects this process. I had never played a game before and went from 0 to GOAT in 9 games, my mate took over 20 cause he had played several games.
Making secondary profiles isnt really a big problem, and since u get a free months gold with new profiles, U will prob need around 4 extra profiles between the 2 boosters.
[EDIT] Just like to add that you should check the leaderboards every so often, and that the achievement usually does not unlock till you look at the leaderboard when you are rank 50.
[EDIT] Please note, I am no longer high enough to help people with this achievement, Ive helped quite a few randoms as well as plenty of friends so my rank is well and truely busted. However still feel free to msg me if you need assistance in getting the method working.
I had already played well over 40 matches and had lost 19 of them; my rank 'starting' at 25 when I decided to do 'this' last week....
I had to make use of about 7-8 profiles and with the use of these methods (with just a little twist) I was able to pull this one off; ... So, I've now got two profiles, one at lvl 42, another at 44 and my own, 'main', account well at lvl 50...
at a certain point after every match played (with the different accounts) I started to write down which TS rating the profile had after its win or loss and which rank on the leaderboard it had ... you can just also go down the leaderboard and check the lvl--rank; looking there you'll find out that being in the top 120 will give you "The Greatest of All Time"....
You need to have 0 losses for it to work effectively otherwise a lot more wins are required. If you have just 1 loss you will need to be boosted up the leaderboards gradually using other lower TrueSkill rank players so as not to waste the effectiveness of the TrueSkill 50 gamers.
Just to note, you can have the person losing quit out of the matches and it will still count. This will make it a lot quicker.
Finally, the achievement only pops when you check the leaderboard so do that after your 7th match (or higher).
There is a link here to a pass the parcel thread I set up to help you find who you can get the achievement from. This should hopefully be your gateway to the achievement!
I hope that this helps you get this elusive and frustrating achievement.
In the end we used 5 ghost accounts. Here are some stats from our run, hope it helps:
1st ghost-account: 37 games played, took 90 min., reached lvl 25
2nd ghost-account: 16 games played, took 35 min., reached lvl 35
3rd ghost-account: 26 games played, took 70 min., reached lvl 43
4th ghost-account: 24 games played, took 70 min., reached lvl 47
5th ghost-account: 30 games played, took 80 min., reached lvl 50
Some sidenotes:
* Dumm enough we played our matches shutting out the opponent with a score of 7-0 every single match. I just recently found out that you can just quit out straight away and it still registers as a win (needless to say that this will drastically reduce time played per match)
* With the 5th account we already achieved lvl 50 after 18 games played, but we did an additional 12 matches in order to cement this account more in place (meaning that with more games played the rankdrop would be less while boosting off from this account).
* Furthermore, when setting up a new account it's a good thing to boost off a bit from multiple accounts, e.g. with the 4th account we first played a match against the 1st account, continueing with a match or two against the 2nd account and finishing up with the remaining matches played against the highest-ranked account (in this example being the 3rd account).
* My own account was a bit shaken up to start with since I already played 17 matches (10 W, 7 L) in the early days while not being aware of screwing up my stats. So we went in expecting the worst. Nonetheless I got the G.O.A.T. in 44 matches (in 2 hours). My friend who had a 'clean' account got it in 10 matches (in 30 min.).
Good luck to you all! I'm 1 happy bunny :D
1 question, Does the quit the match trick work for the tournaments as well??!
Step 1: Find a boosting partner that is willing to put some serious hours into the game.
Step 2: Find another boosting partner with a level 50 account. (or make one using method mentioned by Molloy2006, which would make it even more long winded!)
Step 3: Make an Xbox Live silver account (which we'll call "G.O.A.T. 1") and either apply a 1 month's free trial or a 48 hour trial to the account. Boost it up to a 50 account (by your friend quitting out of games), which should take around 7-9 games. You should see the G.O.A.T unlocked for the first times (out of many!). (You need to view the leaderboard to unlock it).
Step 4: With another trial account (you'll need a few) let your partner boost off "G.O.A.T. 1" to make another 50 account ("G.O.A.T. 2"), "G.O.A.T. 1" probably dropping to a trueskill rank of 45.
Step 5: Boost you or your partner's main gamertag using "G.O.A.T. 1", and get it as high as you can, you should stop once it has passed "G.O.A.T 1" on the leaderboard.
Step 6: Get "G.O.A.T 2" to give "G.O.A.T 3" a level 50 account, then let your partner boost off of "G.O.A.T 2".
Keep repeating this with more and more new accounts.
If you run out of accounts before both of you are level 40, you will need to either beg your friends for codes, or purchace some off ebay, as you have little chance of getting the goat otherwise.
If you run out of accounts when both of you are really close, then there are a couple of tricks you can use to make the most out of the accounts you have. You can:
1) Simply keep boosting from an account that is lower than you in the leaderboard, but progression will get increasingly slower. You can end up doing more harm than good as the more games you play the harder it is to rank up, so try to reach a happy medium.
2) Boost 2 previous accounts together to try and raise the level of one of them so that it becomes good to boost off again.
3) For an account that has given another the G.O.A.T., which you are about to boost from; let the account win more matches. Even if the account's trueskill doesn't rise, it will take less games to drop down, so will therefore be able to be boosted from longer.
4) Make 2 level 50 accounts from 1 level 50 account. Make the first one normally, but instead of your main tag boost off the 'sacrificed' account, boost another new account from it. You will be able to get to 50 in less than 20 games.
Conclusion:
Never boost directly from your only level 50 account.
Use 'sacrificed' accounts to boost your main tag up.
Using this method it took me and another person who had previously played 25-30 games each 8 trial accounts and 15 hours to do it. Good luck, if you have enough preseverance you CAN do this.
Honestly, there is no easy way. Well, technically, the only easy way is if you know 2 people that are 35 or higher and want to help (the higher the better). Basically you need someone within 4-5 levels to help you rank up. Once you become 6 levels higher than someone, it's going to become a very very very time consuming task. Therefore, if you're a 20 at the moment, try to rank off of a 25. Once that 25 gets you to about a 25, then try ranking off of a 30 or higher. Once you're a 30, try ranking off of someone that's 35 or higher, and etc. This achievement WILL take a lot of time, unless of course you have two people that are 40+ helping you.
Time-conserving method:
The following achievements can be locked in this order: (explanation below them)
"The Noob" and "The Victor" Achievements
"3 Match Winning Streak"
"4 Match Winning Streak"
"5 Match Winning Streak" and "The Widowmaker" achievements.
Ok, so here's how you do the above 6 achievements for the quick 280 gamerscore points:
Get a friend, get in a private chat with them, then go to Xbox Live, Ranked Match, and have one person create a custom ranked match with unusual settings (I used 1 of 1 games per match, 7 points per game, spectators off, and 5 points per serve). Ok, when you're about to create, make sure your friend has the same settings ready to search. Tell him when you create it so he can join immediately before someone else. Then in gameplay, whoever is getting all the achievements, shut out your opponent (don't quit or you won't get the "Widowmaker" achievement). After game one you'll get your "Newb" and "Victor" achievements. After game three you'll get the "3 Match Winning Streak", then 4, and then after the fifth game you'll get your "5 Match Winning Streak" and the "Widowmaker" achievements. Also, if someone does join your created ranked match before your friend does, you have the option to back out of it, so no worries there. It will take about 15 minutes or so to get these 6 achievements for 280 points.
How To Serve an Ace:
An Ace is a served ball that the opponent can’t even touch when in attempt to return it. Here’s how you do it: When serving, move about 4-6 steps to the right, and then back a step. Hit . Then look all the way left, Hit again, and make sure your spin meter is 100% full, and the power meter can be 75%-100% full. It should serve a very nice leftspin that the computer can’t return, giving you an Ace. Please note that with each character, the amount of steps you need to take will be different. Just explore around with it and you’ll eventually get it. Also note that some computer opponents (such as Jung Soo) you cannot serve an Ace against consistently as you can against others.
