How to unlock the Disposophobia achievement in Rogue Legacy - Definitive Guide

This is going to require multiple playthroughs to get. In your first run through the game, you will likely be able to get items from the first two columns of each type of gear. But after, that it will be very, VERY rare to see equipment. (This makes it much harder than the Rune collector since you can find all the runes in your first run through the game).

For the equipment, here are some things to look out for:

-Typically, the gear blueprint is in either an iron lined chest or the gold chests for defeating a mini-boss. These are more likely to contain the equipment blueprints. There are cases when a regular chest holds that hold the blueprints, but they are much less likely.

-As I said above, the gold chests for mini-bosses frequently hold blueprints. These rooms usually have a ? over them on the map so if you're using a Miner/Spelunker, that's how the room will appear on the legend.

-You need to speak to the blacksmith to get the achievement. The achievement will not unlock when you grab the last blueprint but after speaking to him when he has received them all.

I required NG+ and NG+2 to get the achievement. It might be possible to finish it on NG+, but I had done a speedy run of NG+ in order to finish 2 runs in one session and receive the "Beat the Game Twice" achievement. All in all, take your time and get the equipment. Really focus on exploring the castle and finding treasure chests throughout. Eventually, you'll get everything and finish the requirement for the achievement.

EDIT: According to Hikaru No Go, you can find items even in the 3rd and 4th columns during your first run through the castle. This might be because of reaching such a high level. Either way, it is possible to get very high level gear early (just might take a while).

EDIT 2: According to MemoriesOfFinal, getting Calypso's Compass will be a huge help. It can usually guarantee finding a blueprint in the secret room it guides you to. I personally did not use the compass, but this can help guide you to items such as blueprints or stat ups.

EDIT 3: According to ShotyMcFat, the region of the dungeon you are in will change what you find. Stronger gear will obviously be in the harder regions.

I got items from the third and fourth columns during my first game, but before end the game for the 1st time I've reached lv.305, so I've explored the castle again and again. But I've had 3/4 of the blueprints during my first run.

Highly recommend mentioning Calisto's Compass. That thing is a godsend for finding high level equipment early.

Just to add to this, each section of the castle will have gear that will only drop in that area or in an area with harder enemies.
For example
The castle is the easiest section so only the low level gear will drop.
The Forest is slightly harder so it will drop all of the Castle gear and slightly higher gear.
The Tower will drop both the Castle and Forest gear aswell as its own gear.
The Dungeon being the hardest section will drop everything from the Castle, Forest and Tower aswell as gear that will only drop in the Dungeon

In short
Castle drops only Castle gear.
Forest drops Forest and Castle gear.
Tower drops Tower, Forest and Castle gear.
Dungeon drops Dungeon, Tower, Forest and Castle gear

Adding my own 2 cents here, what drops from where depends on your current run. During your initial run Iron Chests and Minibosses can drop up to the Sky tier of equipment(3rd column, 2nd row), whilst higher tiers can drop from the chests in the Calypso's Compass room. On NG+ Minibosses and chests can drop everything up EXCEPT the Dark gear(5th column, 3rd row, highest tier of equipment) which can be located in the Calypso's Compass room. Dark Gear will start dropping from Minibosses on NG+2 and higher.

Any specific way to grind this? I'm on NG+2 and still need 3/4 pieces of each type and I only find a blueprint every 4 or 5 runs which is taking forever. All my chests are money or stat points unless I can find a miniboss which is rare.

Blueprints are primarily found in Gold chests but can also be found in Iron chests scattered throughout the dungeons and very rarely in Regular chests. You start with 4 blueprints already, which leaves 71 other blueprints to find: 15 capes and 14 in each of the other 4 categories. Once you have collected all of the blueprints, you are awarded the trophy when you talk to the Blacksmith.

In your first playthrough, there are 36 blueprints available to find; everything up to the Sky set can be found totalling 40 blueprints in the first playthrough. While rare it is also possible to find some of the upper-tier equipment in the first playthrough but they are mostly found using the compass or by equipping Curse Runes. As such, I wouldn't recommend searching for anything past Sky equipment in the first playthrough.

Once you start New Game+ the remaining blueprints will become available with the exception of the Dark set. The Dark set can either be found in New Game++, or by using Calypso’s compass in New Game+. Calypso's Compass is an item randomly given to the player by Shrines. When you have this item, it points in a direction towards a secret room in one of the 4 areas. If you reach and enter this area, you will find 2 Gold chests.

Another thing to note about the blueprints is that the more advanced blueprints are limited to harder areas. For example, you won’t be able to find Sky blueprints (the most advanced gear in the first playthrough) in the Castle Hamson. Once you find all the lower tier blueprints, such as Knight blueprints, then the Iron and Gold chests in the earlier areas will give gold instead of blueprints.

There are a total of 73 blueprints in the game (75 gear slots, but you start with two already unlocked). As the description says, you just need to find all of the blueprints, and don't need to buy them all from the Smithy. Also worth noting is that this achievement doesn't unlock until you talk to the Smithy after having all blueprints. So don't be alarmed when this achievement doesn't unlock as soon as you obtain your last blueprint. You'll need to Die, then talk to the Smithy to unlock this.

Another big thing to be aware of is that it is impossible to find all blueprints on your first playthrough. In a regular New Game, only the first three columns of gear can drop. There is a very small possibility of getting the first one in the fourth column, but that's the max possible in New Game. In New Game+, all of the gear in New Game can drop, plus all of column four and the first in column five. The final two pieces of gear in each category are the Dark pieces, and there is only one way to get them to drop in NG+: in a gold chest inside a secret room accessed if you get Calypso's Compass from a Shrine. This item is extremely rare, so it's not worth counting on it. Instead, you're better off completing NG+ (you need Geminiphobia (50G) anyway) and then starting NG++. In NG++, all gear can drop from chests. So realistically, for this achievement, you're going to need to reach NG++ to access the final blueprints.

While blueprints are normally down to RNG entirely, there is actually an amazing exploit that you can use to get all blueprints available in that playthrough in a matter of minutes. It just requires some luck, as it requires you to find a miniboss room. Here are the steps:

  1. Locate the miniboss room and kill the miniboss so it drops a gold chest
  2. Open the gold chest
  3. DO NOT leave the room or quit to the main menu
  4. Press the Guide button on your controller and force close the game app
  5. Launch the game and continue your game. You'll be back in the first room of the castle but will have kept the contents of the chest
  6. Warp back near the miniboss room and head back inside
  7. The gold chest will be there, closed, allowing you to open it again for another reward
  8. Repeat the above steps over and over
With gold chests, you should be getting blueprints most of the time, and sometimes permanent stat boosts. The amount of blueprints you can get will depend on which area of the game you do this in (i.e. the Castle has far less available blueprints than if you do this exploit in a miniboss room in the Dungeon, for example).

You will undoubtedly come across at least one miniboss during your first playthrough of this game, so you can make use of this exploit on your first playthrough to get over half of the available blueprints. Then, on NG+, use this same exploit to get all available blueprints in NG+. You won't need to actually play through NG++ for any reason, so you'll just need to play around until you either get the last blueprints legit or until you find a miniboss room in NG++.
