How to unlock the Ommetaphobia achievement in Rogue Legacy - Definitive Guide
Castle Hamson is the area of the game you always start in. You need to locate the boss door, which is randomly placed somewhere in the area, and enter it and defeat the boss Khidr to unlock this trophy. See below for additional boss info:
Khidr is a giant eyeball that stays stationary in the center of the arena. The arena has 4 platforms around the outside and has spike traps in the bottom corner.
He only has 3 attacks:
- Khidr will shoot 4 spirals outwards that rotates in a circle, similar to a windmill. Stay in the gaps in between the attack and move with it to dodge the attack.
- Khidr will shoot projectiles outwards in all directions a couple of times in a row, just move between them to dodge.
- Khidr will shoot pairs of projectiles in 4 directions, just move aside to dodge them.
You should come to the fight with at least a double jump and probably a rune. Vampire runes won't be of any use, as you won't be killing any enemies. You'll want to play this fight a bit safer and focus more on avoiding attacks than attacking. The best place to dodge projectile attacks is on the ground, as you have more room to dodge projectiles. You should stand on one of the lower platform, hit Khidr 2-4 times then drop onto the ground to dodge attacks. When the attack is done, hop onto the platform and repeat the strategy.
The door to this boss, like all boss doors, will be in a random room (in the Castle section, for this boss). It's a large open double door with a warp pad below it and two statues on either side of it.
The boss in Castle Hamson in Khidr, a giant eyeball. This is quite an easy fight (compared to all other bosses) because Khidr just sits in the center of the screen, doesn't move, and there are no other enemies to deal with. It has three attacks, all involving its red projectiles:
- It shoots them out in all directions at once, with a gap between each big enough to fit through
- It shoots pairs in random direction
- It shoots them out in a spiral pattern
That's really all there is to this fight. The biggest advice I can give is to be patient rather than trying to be too aggressive. Take your time, ensuring you dodge the projectiles, and only strike when it's safe, and you should be able to take down this boss relatively easily.
