How to unlock the Somniphobia achievement in Rogue Legacy - Definitive Guide
This achievement requires you to play the game for 20 hours in a single save file.
Notice that you can change save files on the "Choose your Heir" screen. Each of your save files will have a time listed - the achievement will pop immediately when that number reaches 20:00 for one file.
To get this, I recommend working toward all other achievements (except Thanatophobia, which you'll have to do on a new file). Most notably, you can tackle the remixed bosses to run up the clock. Be careful, though, because it may be tough getting to the boss rooms on higher levels of New Game+.
If you're already completed everything else, the next best thing is to continue playing the game. Going for as many New Game + levels as possible might help with Thanatophobia (beating the game with fewer than 15 deaths) because you'll get a ton of practice in tough situations. You can only get that achievement on a new file, so time spent on that will not count toward this one.
If you're not interested in dealing with progressively harder enemies, you can just let the game run while you do something else. Sitting in an empty room in the Castle while you're doing something else will slowly grind up your time.
Once you know that it has to be on a single save file, there's nothing particularly tricky about this one. Good hunting!

As the trophy states, simply play for 20 hours to unlock this trophy. The game does not have a way to keep track during the game, however it will tell you how stats such as long you have played after you beat the game. This carries over into New Game+ but not into new save files.
This achievement is cumulative for an entire save file; it does NOT carry between save files. You will assuredly unlock this achievement well before finishing your NG+ playthrough for Geminiphobia (50G) on your main save file. As a point of reference, I unlocked this achievement right at the end of my first playthrough, before starting my NG+ playthrough.
If you somehow don't unlock this achievement naturally, you can idle by the Smithy and Enchantress where it's safe, or in any room in the castle, until this achievement unlocks.
