How to unlock the Veteran Scavenger achievement in Rogue Trooper Redux - Definitive Guide

As the achievement description states, you need to collect a total of 100,000 salvage material. This can be done during the campaign, by replaying missions or across multiple playthroughs (I noticed that even starting a new campaign, which resets all equipment and unlocked missions, does not reset the salvage counter).

Apparently, the only kind of salvage that counts towards this achievement are the "collectibles" scattered throughout the missions - salvage obtained from dead enemies or allies does not count, and salvage collected must be saved by completing a mission.

I went for the remainder of the salvage by replaying mission 3; Nort Naval Base, which is just a fun level, contains a total of 10,050 salvage, and is probably the best mission in the game if you want to grind for kill-related achievements. The game's final mission - Final Fight - might be the fastest way to collect salvage, but who says you can't have some fun while going for this achievement?

Upon unlocking this achievement, you will also get the "2000 AD Collector" achievement for unlocking all Encyclopaedia entries, provided you already beat the campaign.

Salvage is the in game currency to obtain ammo and upgrades for Rogue. It is also used to unlock encyclopedia entries related to the 2000 AD Collector trophy. You collect salvage off of dead enemies as well as random pickups in each level. Only the salvage received from pickups counts towards the trophy. These pickups are actually marked with a small blue dot on your HUD. The other catch is you have to complete the level in order for it to count. You will likely not have collected 100,000 by games end unless you seek out every pick up in every level which can waste a lot of time.

If you are short at the end of the game, the best grind is to replay the last level. There is 10,200 salvage available, the map is tiny and you can complete it in 7 minutes. The map is a triangle. The salvage is located 2 each on the platforms where you have to activate the bridge and 1 each at each corner entrance where enemies spawn.

I recommend killing the mech first and collecting all the salvage prior to starting the first bridge activation because it gets harder once you start because more and more enemies spawn. Remember, you must complete the level. You can keep track of how much salvage you have accumulated by going to the extras menu and selecting Nu-Earth Encyclopedia and fining an item you have not unlocked. Scrolling to it will show you how much you have and how much you need.
