You get credit for picking up a treasure after pressing 
. When you get the picture/text window - if you press 
, select Main menu then continue - the treasure will be back on the ground so you can go back and repeat.
The treasure Fugoro steals from you doesn't count towards the achievement when you pick it up at his pipe icon in Chapter 3 but it's possible that maybe the second one does that he leaves for you.
This is much faster than doing entire runs to just get 6 or 7 to finish off the needed percentage points.
You gain 1% on the achievement tracker every 5 treasures you pick up.
