How to unlock the Rhythm Sticks achievement in RTL Winter Sports 2009 - Definitive Guide

Use your thumbs to do the A and B-button presses. When the challenge starts, it doesn't matter how fast you do the beginning. After the beginning, you need to be ready to start pressing at the right time, just take a look at the skating pattern.

At first this seemed almost impossible to me. Then I realized, when the gauges go blue, you have to react faster, not slower like I though. You need to press the button just before you hear the skating sound, the game punishes you much more often if you react too slow rather than too fast.

With the correct timing during the curves you should be able to hit every time a GREAT or PERFECT. Just keep practising, it is really just one 500 meter lap, it goes fast.

Too slow = BLUE
Too fast = RED

This is one of the challenges you have to complete in campaign mode. This event is all about getting rhythm, the hardest parts are the curves and the beginning. The straight areas are the easiest because they are slow and give you enough time to see when you need to release the and button. If you don’t know what you're doing, you’ll see the meter in the bottom center and a light blue shade will fill up on one side, then move to the other side.

What you need to do is press the button in the respective area its in (if its in the side press and hold ) then release it when the arrow is full. This can be quite hard, I used both my thumbs in this because it made it easier than using one thumb to hit both buttons. Just hold your controller side ways and alternate between holding and down. Pace yourself in the straightaways, but don’t go to fast during the curves, it requires fast reaction skills, so practice a little before really taking it on.
