Has to be done in World Rally - Time trial.
You press X for rankings and A to download a ghost. (Not all ghosts are downloadable, the symbol changes to a car if you have it downloaded).
First time you race you'll only get the top 150 ghosts on the rankings. Good luck beating those.
What you want to do is get a time a little slower than your normal time, so if you mess up first go that's cool. If not wait a couple seconds at the finish. This is because when you go back to rankings on the same course a second time the ghosts will now be around the time you finished at. Which will now be easy to beat.
