How to unlock the The Old Fashioned Way achievement in RWBY: Grimm Eclipse - Definitive Guide
My group did this on the Emerald Forest Map, with two players using Blake with the stun bonus on her ranged attack, Weiss with max damage on her ranged attack, and Jaune with the 100% damage bonus on his ultimate attack with the bonus for duration. It took a few tries but we ended up with
After the first three waves, split into groups of two, with one Blake per group. Blake will focus on stunning everything possible with her ranged attacks while the other player will focus on defeating the enemies. Jaune's damage buff from his ultimate will apply to both groups regardless of distance so don't worry about that. If it all possible, try to also equip the fast revive ability in case someone goes down.

After a few tries with a group that were incredibly chaotic and difficult, I ended up doing this solo in about 3 or 4 tries. Emerald Forest map, Blake with left ranged upgrade for stun. Her range is ridiculous and you need to use that to your advantage. Try NOT to be next to the stations, so enemy attacks at you don't damage it. Waves 1-3 are pretty simple. 4-6 you stay in the trail between stations 2 and 3 and your priority is to hit enemies as they spawn with your ranged attack to grab their aggro away from the stations. Your biggest target is the white cyborgs; just a couple of them doing spray n pray or tossing grenades can ruin a station or you if you get bad luck. Stun with ranged and then charged Y -> RB to finish them if you have the space, but usually your main deal is grabbing aggro, kiting enemies away from the stations, and spamming your ranged stun attack to slowly chip them. 7-10 same deal as 4-6, use the tunnel between 4 and 5 and again prioritize grabbing aggro, especially the gunners and big dudes. You have a bit more room to deal with them here, as you can kite towards station 1, which is no longer vulnerable. RNG with enemy spawns is a factor, and try not to get impatient because if you go for a kill the rest of the swarm can bury you immediately, especially in the tunnels if a couple grenades hit you simultaneously.
TLDR Forest, Blake ranged stuns to grab aggro, keep your distance and whittle them down.

This is easiest done on the ‘Emerald forest’ map as you only have to defend two stations at a time. The best character to use is Blake with the ‘Stun blades’ ability as it can relieve some of the stress when most enemies are stunned.
