How to unlock the Bad To The Bone achievement in Ryse: Son of Rome - Definitive Guide

Centurion Difficulty is your basic Hard Mode. Enemies hit for more damage and you get less rewards for your executions (IE: executions don't return as much health if you have the health bonus selected).

UNCONFIRMED - It feels like enemies take more hits to become executable/killed, but I don't know for sure.

My best advice is to beat the game on Soldier (Normal) first and really get used to the combat system. Also, if you plan on beating the game on Legendary you MUST memorize the animations of attacks that cannot be Blocked. In Legendary the enemies will not glow red when you need to Roll to dodge them.

The important thing to note is that difficulty achievements are stackable, so you can complete the game on Legendary and get credit for this achievement.

I thought it was unlocked from the get-go, but if not then yes it should unlock after completing an earlier difficulty.

beating it on legendary is only 5, and beating it on centurion is 30? does not make sense

@ Hippo Op - There's not really an achievement for beating the game on Legendary, but there are a total of 7 achievements worth 5 GS each (35 GS total) for beating different chapters of the game.

Weak overall scores awarded for legendary beat. Should be at least 50 if not 100. Also, to confirm, beating the game on soldier WILL unlock legendary mode. This is the route I took.

What about beating the game on Recruit? Should I start over? Also, do your stats carry over, thus making future playthroughs on higher difficulty more feasible? That is, if I beat the game in Recruit and get a bunch of stats improvements and then restart the game on Centurion or Legendary, do I start over from scratch as far as stats upgrades?

Not sure about the difficulty but it shouldn't matter. Stats and unlocks carry over.

After I beat the game on Recruit, do I have to start a new campaign on Centurion or Legendary difficulty and re-play the game that way to get this achievement? Or, can I do chapter select, change the difficulty to Centurion or Lengendary for each one, and then still get the achievement? Maybe it's safer to just start a new campaign?

Do chapter select an choose the first stage then select Legendary difficulty..
Kinda a rule of thumb always use chapter select as selecting New Campaign generally erases all game data.. Not sure if it does with this game but just to be safe always go chapter select when replaying harder difficulty's to avoid any loss of stats etc...

I played through on Centurion, and it's not difficult at all, especially if you have played any of the Asassins Creed games as the combat systems are fairly similar.

Good game overall, i really enjoyed it!

I can confirm this achievement does in fact pop if you play through the missions on legendary.

Just played through the whole game on Legendary, even got all the achievements for doing so, but the Achievement for beating it on Centurion is only 87% filled. Any ideas?

I finally figured it out, for some reason I had to replay the first mission on Centurion difficulty to unlock it.

Mine was stuck on 87% as well, ended up sitting on the main menu for a few minutes looking up how to solve the issue and they both popped!

I suggest just letting it hang out for a few if they dont pop right away

Did you select a new campaign or through the timeline?@branstoneboy I tried through timeline and it didn't pop.

Edit: I played in timeline from chapter 1 the beginning all the way up to The King on Centurion and it popped.

Additionally, I can confirm that you can play the levels in any order, so you don't need to start a new campaign in order to complete the game in different difficulties.
