You have to achieve the rank of 130 before you can purchase any Tier 6 equipment. Once you have hit the required level, go to the booster pack menu and buy any of the tier 6 packs (bronze, silver or gold). Now return to the customization screen and equip one of the items and start a multiplayer session. The achievement should pop right away.

Credit goes to Gui CrocBane for finding this solution, I'm only writing it down here step by step to help out others.
For me, the error seemed to be caused by the language region independence, introduced in the Xbox One summer update. While you can now chose a language independently from your region, Ryse still acts old fashioned in this regard.
Basically, what you want to do is set your region to your actual location (Xbox One settings>System>Language and Region) and, to be absolutely sure, pick a language that is linked to your region.
For example, I am from Belgium, I play my games in English and I am currently based in France. All I had to do was changing my region to France and the language to French. I rebooted my Xbox and started a multiplayer game of Ryse. I was finally able to earn in game gold.
For other people setting your Xbox region to the UK and the language to English also seemed to have worked (not for me unfortunately).
Side note: all the gold that you should have earned in the past while you got the error is now lost forever, so unfortunately this fix doesn't work retroactively.

You should mention that it costs a minimum of 1500 coins. The T6 Items stats are mental.

You have to reach level 130 and then purchase a tier 6 item for 1500 coins. Play survival mode for maximum exp gain. Make sure at least one person chooses Jupiter for their patron god. The best combination is one player as Jupiter and one as Apollo for focus and health gain. Always strike your enemies enough to make them executable and then perform the executions. After the first two, you should have enough focus to begin using your special, which should be slow time for both players, stunning your enemies and allowing you to get an additional 4-6 hits on your enemies before executing them. The goal with all of this is to maximize your combo. Whenever the skull on your screen starts flashing, you are about to lose your combo. Press LB to boast before the crowd, which saves your combo for about fifteen seconds or so. The higher your combo, the more experience you will gain in the round. It follows an exponential growth rate, so very high combos result in massive experience. I gain three levels per survival match with each match taking about eight to ten minutes. A good team can go even longer.

Two suggestions, 1 Saturn, to the best of my knowledge is not a god that is in this game, you may mean Apollo. 2, purchasing the bronze medal @1500 is the cheapest way to get the achievement, yes, but if you are going for lvl 150, you would be better suited getting the gold pack @4500 just a couple thoughts.
