How to unlock the Zone's deadliest predator achievement in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl - Definitive Guide
I encountered most of the mutants during the main quests. Except for the Pseudogiant.
Rodents - Rat like bunny hops usually in a swarm. 1-2 shots to kill with any weapon.
Rat Swarm - I'm not sure if this counts but I'm including it. A rat swarm can be easily dispatched with a well placed grenade.
Flesh - Easy to kill mutant with a pounce attack.
Blind Dogs - Common mutant that you will face often in packs.
Boar - Has a charge attack that knocks you over. Fairly easy to kill.
Poltergeist - Disguised similar to a spark anomaly it moves fast and floats around and throws things at you. Aim for center of mass or lower to score hits as it darts around. This mutant is hard to kill since it does a lot of damage. [EDIT 3] There seems to be at least 3 different kinds of this mutant. Some are disguised as Sparks, Fireballs, and a Toxic gas cloud.
Pseudodog/Psi-Dog - I fought a pack of psi-dogs a few times around the zone. In this game they make way more clones that the other S.T.A.L.K.E.R games. Find the original and kill it before you get overwhelmed. I'm not sure if there are two different types of this mutant in this game.
Bloodsucker - You'll fight many of these in your playthrough. They have a loud growl that disorients you and stops you from running. They are invisible unless attacking. My advice is to put your back to a wall and look for the invisibility distortions. Several well placed shotgun blasts will kill the beast.
Snork - [Looks like a man in a gas mask on all fours] Jumping mutant that pounces from afar. Side step the pounce and pump it full of lead.
Cat - Mutant cat with a pounce attack and some kind of psychic attack that teleports the character. [EDIT 2] I also encountered a unique Cat that makes clones of itself like the Pseudodog/Psi-Dog.
Pseudogiant - I encountered this beast during a side quest in the Chemical Plant area. It takes many shots to go down. I stood on something off the ground and it could only use its huge AOE attack to hurt me.
Burer - [Short rotund mutant wearing a hood] This mutant can use guns scattered around its encounters (even if they are unloaded!) Keep moving behind cover to survive. It also puts up a shield protecting it from bullets and melee attacks. Wait for the shield to come down and shoot it in the head until it is dead.
Controller - This mutant does a psi attack that disorients you so you can't aim well or run. My strategy is to be close to it so it will keep melee attacking while you shoot into its mutated brains.
Zombified Stalker - Usually around the Controller mutant. I noticed that if you "kill" one with the Controller still alive they can be raised again by the Controller. Kill the Controller first then the zombies with headshots.
Chimera - This was the last Mutant that I encountered for this achievement. During a main quest you have to kill one to move on. This beast is very very hard to kill. It took me maybe 20 clips of 10 round shotgun shells to kill it. My advice is to not fight this in the open. The Chimera has trouble entering doorways with its two big heads. Lure it to a doorway and shoot it in the head and body as it runs away. Keep doing this until it dies.
Deer/Mutant Stag - [EDIT: Yuumeda commented on this and I forgot that I killed one] You have to kill this to continue forward on the main quest. The mutant stag is heavily armored from pustules on its hide. It charges fast similar to the Boar mutant. It can also perform a call that brings other mutants such as Blind Dogs to its aid.

- Blind Dogs
- Bloodsucker

- Deer
- Flesh
- Poltergeist
- Pseudodog
- Pseudogiant
- Rats
- Snork
- Zombie Stalker
This guide was translated automatically.
You will encounter most mutants during the main quests.
Jerboas - Often found in various sewers and story missions. Definitely don't miss them.
Swarm of rats - Also found in the sewers and encountered during many quests. Almost impossible to miss. (not sure if you need to kill them for the achievement, but it won't hurt).
Flesh is an easy mob, kills quickly, doesn't hit hard. Similar to a chimera, but a little smaller and weaker.
Blind Dogs are a common mutant that you will often encounter in packs.
Boar - Has an attack that knocks you down. Fairly easy to kill.
I killed next to the Deer, they both aggroed on me here
Poltergeist - disguised as a spark anomaly, moves quickly, swims and throws objects. Hard to kill, as it deals a lot of damage. One of the varieties (electricity, fire) is enough to kill. Found here
Killed with one magazine of a fully upgraded Dnipro
Psi-Dog - Can be found in the arena. Makes copies of itself, you need to kill the original.
Bloodsucker - You'll fight many of these during your playthrough. They make a loud growl that disorients you and makes it difficult to run. They are invisible unless they attack.
Snork - Looks like a man in a gas mask on all fours. A jumping mutant that pounces from afar. Can be found here
Bayun the Cat is a mutant cat with a jump attack and a psi attack. Location
Pseudogigant - Quite a fat mob, can be killed with three or four magazines of a fully upgraded Dnipro. Search here
Burer - A short, round mutant with a hood. This mutant can use the weapons scattered around him (even if they are unloaded!) He also puts up a shield that protects him from bullets and melee attacks. Wait for the shield to fall and shoot him in the head until he dies. Search here
Killed with 4 underbarrel grenades and one GP37 magazine. We try to move more, because if you stand still, he will hit painfully with a psi attack, which even in an exoskeleton takes away half of your HP.
Controller - This mutant performs a psi-attack that disorients you, so you can't aim well or run. It is encountered in story quests. For example, you can meet one at the cordon here
Zombified - the red forest is teeming with them. Definitely won't miss it in the plot.
Chimera is probably the fattest mob, be prepared to put in about 10-15 magazines and try to avoid its attacks. It hits hard. Found here
Deer - A rather stupid and weak mob, attacks with antlers from a running start, at the last moment it is enough to jump to the side and press a couple of clips with a machine gun. Found here
Jerboas - Often found in various sewers and story missions. Definitely don't miss them.
