It's in the endgame. Just Pick Up a Gaus rifle from one of the Monolith soldiers.

I'll add that if you're lucky, you can get one as early as in Pripyat. Otherwise, one of the very first opponents in the Sarcophagus surely has it.

Yes, if you shoot guys on the roof just right, the gun will fall to the ground. You won't have any ammo, but the achievement will be yours. The gun is curious one, but not worth picking up.

@Siguardius I tried that… didn’t succeed so I just threw an F1 nade at the first dude who shot at me with a Gauss rifle in the corridors right at the entrance of Sarcophagus. You have to go there anyway ^^
