In order to get the difficulty achievements in this game for Normal and Hard, you must select "Continue" upon completion of Ranger Mode.
If you complete the game on Kids, select Continue and you'll be starting the game over on Normal. Upon completion of Normal, selecting Continue again will start you on Hard.
You cannot use the Battle Select feature and do the levels individually on Normal and Hard. You must use the "Continue" method or the respective difficulty achievement will not unlock.
