How to unlock the Bad omen achievement in Sacred Citadel - Definitive Guide

The voodoo dolls are in the level "Grimmoc Hideout". As you progress there will be a look-ahead where you see three grimmocs practice fighting with the four dolls. Just refrain from getting close enough to hit them and make sure none of your weapons have electric damage as a random "shockwave" will occur almost without fail and destroy one.

Edit-
This is the only level with the dolls. If you do happen to destroy one of the dolls all you'll have to do is replay this one level until you make it through clean. Credit to Pare ESP for bringing up this question.

Happy hunting

Hi, Phuddox:

Thanks for your help. I think you have not mentioned that the achievement will unlock after the player defeats the boss of the 5th Act. Or at least, in my case it did. smile

King Of Snacks, did you beat all the levels in the DLC as well? Even though that's the only level with totems you still have to compete all the others as well.

yeah this one is worded weird...well not weird but yeah it does say "beat all Levels" but with there only being one level with them in it its confusing

Thanks for the guide! I'd like to add that if playing co-op, one partner can destroy the totems leaving the other partner free from the risk of accidentally hitting any. This happened to me (I accidentally destroyed them all with a shockwave, but my partner still unlocked it). So if anyone is having trouble, try having a co-op partner (or second controller) wreck them first so you don't have to watch where you swing your weapons. laugh

I've only played Sacred Citadel thus far with the mage, so I can't comment on whether this will work with other characters.

Before starting Grimmoc Hideout you'll want to make sure that you have a full power bar and a stock of three yellow potions. When you reach the voodoo dolls wait until the first wave of enemies attacks and hit them with a level three power attack, turning them to chickens.

You'll have a few seconds before more enemies spawn so use this time to drink the three yellow potions. When more enemies spawn hit them with a second power attack.

Using this approach I was able to complete this section using just the two power attacks with no risk of breaking the voodoo dolls.

You can not destroy any of the voodoo dolls. The only level that has the voodoo dolls is 'Grimmoc Hideout', Act 5 Level 4. When you get to the section where the Grimmocs are practice fighting with four dolls, you'll have to be careful how you fight these enemies so you don't by mistake destroy one of these dolls. Also no electric weapons, as you make cause a Shockwave by mistake, destroying one or more of the dolls.
If you do destroy one or more of the dolls, you'll have to start the level over and try again.
Happy gaming!

Even though the trophy description mentions "all levels" I think there is really only one level that counts: Grimmoc Hideout. There is a section where there are enemies training against practice dummies; these are the voodoo dolls being referenced.

Avoid using area attacks, do not knock back any enemies, and do not stand close to the dummies at all to avoid collateral damage.

The trophy will pop during the "level complete" screen of the 5th and final level; all 5 levels must be completed.

There are voodoo dolls in Act 5 Level 4. They are on stakes and you can spot them very easily. You will have to fight enemies around them, so do not do any attacks that could hit them. If the enemies hit and destroy them, that is okay. You will unlock the achievement after defeating the boss in level 5. There might be other voodoo dolls in other levels, but they are not easy to notice and you will likely not have seen them.

In Act 5, level 4, somewhere in the middle of the level there will be 4 dolls on pillars, and these are the ones you can’t beat. The easiest thing is to play with a friend or a second joy with a pumped-up character and quickly demolish them; the second joy or friend will not receive the achievement, but you will.
