How to unlock the Statement Pieces achievement in Saints Row - Definitive Guide

After you've unlocked the Cutting Edge venture and placed it, find your first cutting edge material. Once you've got the ability to customize with that material: customize a weapon, a vehicle, a clothing item, and your skin with a Cutting Edge material and then save your game. Quit the game, load your recent save. Then go to the garage and select a vehicle to customize. While in the customization, the achievement popped for me.

I had trouble unlocking this and found many had the same issues. The best advice I've seen (and it made a couple of other achievements pop in the past) is to save, quit, start the game and then load your recent save. In this case, the garage customization is when it finally popped for me and many others.

So how do we know which of the customization options is the Cutting Edge materials?

At Empire Tier 3, you’ll get the chance to buy the $400,000 Cutting Edge business venture. Once you’ve acquired it, you’ll be tasked with taking pictures of cutting edge materials at the behest of fashion designer Edith, following the clue given when you hover over the icon on the game’s map screen. You need only take a photo of just one, then apply the material to any weapon, car, single item of clothing, and your character’s skin. Do that and this is yours.

First off, to unlock Cutting Edge materials you need to purchase the Cutting Edge venture available after reaching Criminal Empire Tier 3, purchasing it for $400,000. Once you've talked to the manager, head to any of the Cutting Edge photo locations now appearing on your map, you need to find any 14 of these to complete the venture but for this one anyone will do. The clues given are fairly straight forward so you shouldn't have issues finding them. Once you find one you can customise the items as follows:
  • Weapon - Friendly Fire > Customise > Material
  • Vehicle - Garage > Customise > Paint > Paint Styles
  • Clothing - Style App > Any Outfit Piece > Material
  • Skin - Style App > Skin > Skin Types

Note that this may a little buggy, I had to switch my skin to a different material before it unlocked for me, so if you don't unlock it right away try and find another material and switch that.

You will receive the Cutting Edge material by completing all tasks in the Cutting Edge business. You will need to collect Edith's Vision Diary and turn in the quest to Edith herself to get the material. Use it to paint vehicles, weapons, any item of clothing or leather.

All changes (vehicles, weapons, etc.) must be changed with the same color (material). With different combinations of colors, the trophy does not fall out.

It is not necessary to complete all tasks. It is enough to do one thing, get the material and put it on any car, weapon, clothing, body

This trophy is glitching. I painted everything I have dozens of times, but the trophy did not fall out. I had to replay the game. As with the "Chaos Tamer" trophy, I think this happened because I decided to change the appearance of my boss to the ready-made version of other players. Replaying on easy difficulty until you can get the material doesn’t take very long.

This is wrong. I used different materials and got a trophy.
