Saints Row: Gat out of Hell

To surf a Comet car you need to stand on the roof and wait until you see the surf button pop up . Now you need to balance as long as it takes for the comet to destroy itself.



Now the hard part is to get on one before it goes crazy and drives away. The easiest way i found is to walk into oncoming traffic and make the comet stop directly in front of you. Tap the jump button, but don't jump forward because the car will start driving most of the time and you will miss it.

Solo Method:
First, you will need to find a Comet which is a small white hatchback. To do so, I recommend running laps on the highway, or finding one in the streets, although it doesn't spawn very often. Once you do, stand in front of it to make it stop, then jump upwards and you should land on top of it. Once you land on top of it, it will begin to move and you will get a "Car surfing" prompt one your screen which you should accept. You will now need to balance your character as long as possible until the car hopefully explodes. There is no way to make this more likely, so there is a small luck factor in getting the car to explode.

Co-op Method:
Have two people run around the map together until they find a Comet. One of the players should quickly hijack it, and the other player will jump on the roof. Once this is set-up, the driver will begin to drive and the player on top will get a "Car surfing" prompt which they should accept. Once that happens, the driver should look for a small lava pit or damage the car by hitting things for it to explode. After this is successful, trade roles for both people to get it.

The Comet is a tiny white car that constantly explodes for no freaking reason at all.

You need to surf on top of comet until it explodes. Surfing is when you stand on a moving vehicle and press Y to enter a Tony Hawk style balancing system. You need to balance on the Comet until it explodes.

I found using a co-op partner and trading over driving/surfing makes the achievement loads easier.

It doesn't seem to explode on it's on own when a co-op player is surfing on the vehicle so I drove into the lava to force an explosion.

The only difficult thing about this achievement is distinguishing and finding the Comet, which is a car. The Comet is a small little white car. The car in this picture-



Anyway, in order to "surf" on the car you must stand on top of the car and press to start surfing on it. Surfing is a little mini game that is very simple and involves having to balance your analog stick to the middle of the line on the screen. In just a few seconds of doing this, you should notice that the car will start smoking, Do NOT get off, you must be on it while it explodes. Live or die after this, you'll still unlock the achievement.

First clear your notoriety because one shot will ruin your surf. Now look for a Comet (not on fire) preferably at a stop light, stand about 10 feet in front of it and tap jump and slightly move in the direction of the car. The roof is very small, you know you are on the right spot when a prompt comes up to surf. Just keep your balance by moving the stick in the opposite way you are leaning until the car explodes.

I have a method of doing it solo without having to balance for over a minute while you wait for the car to ignite. (this method does involve a little patience though)

All you need to do is find a road that has lava dripping onto it, from their just twiddle your thumbs and wait for a comet to approach letting other cars pass you (dont block the road, as the lava will only drip into 1 lane their cant be anything blocking traffic ) and when the comet finally shows up just hop on and start surfing, the instant it drives through/under the lava it will explode without even having caught fire and achievement will pop.

I also have a very easy alternate Co-op method, Both of the players will stay together while the look for a comet that isnt on fire, when one spawns one of the players surfs the comet while the other hits it with a RPG, (the car does not have to catch fire you just need to be surfing that specific car when it explodes by any means)
