How to unlock the Shooting Star achievement in Saints Row: Gat out of Hell - Definitive Guide

1- Solo Method
You'll want a bunch of flight upgrades and the upgrade that allows you to take less damage from fire if you want to do this efficiently.

In order to light yourself on fire mid-flight and remain in flight you will need to find a source lava that you can fly through. There are floating platforms above the city, and some of them have "lava waterfalls" flowing from them. Flying through these will light your character on fire, and you can continue to fly in order to build your distance for this achievement/trophy. You can also fly very low and close to an open pool of lava and fly through small "explosions" of lava on the surface which will also work!

2 - Co-op Method
This method is a little involved but also works. You will need two people the Ulcier's Edge (Seven Deadly Sins Meele Weapon), which is acquired by completing all 5 marshalling grounds, and then visiting the middle of map using the teleport. The main attack of this weapon will shoot a fireball.

You can light each other on fire (even with friendly damage off) by having one person hover while the other person strikes them with the fireball. Once the hovering person is on fire, they can fly around and then repeat the process until the achievement/trophy unlocks.

There are a few places where lava pours onto the street. Just fly back and forth thru the lava on the street. Took me around 5 minutes to get it that way.

The flying distance while on fire will be added up. A good spot for this are the lava streams on the right edge of the map. Fly directly through them and you will set yourself on fire for a short time. Land and repeat until you have 500 meters.

The more flying abilities you have the faster you will get the achievement because you will be able to stay in the air a lot longer.

for me i flew close to the lava..

it has spouts that come up that will set you on fire, use these and try and fly as fast as you can.

it's best with alot of flap upgrades and lava running.. as you can just touch down to refresh your flaps without taking health damage

For this trophy you dont have to fly the entire 500m in one go.....with enough, or none, resistance upgrades, go down into the depths of hell where the lava ocean is (on edges of map also works) you will notice a constant spew of burning liquid. Fly up and down couple of times going through this burst of lava, flap your wings to give that boost of speed. After every 100m you do, a notification will pop. Goodluck.

You see those strands of lava pouring down randomly through out Hell? Fly through them and you will be set on fire. After a time the flames will be put out. Keep flying through the lava streams until the achievement unlocks. Also unless you like the blood curdling screams; I would do this with Gat. Kinzie's scream is pretty morbid.

You can do this easily by finding two lava dripping spots that are 50-100 meters apart. Just fly through the first one to set yourself on fire, then through the second one to keep yourself on fire.

This trophy is earned for flying a total of 500 meters while you are on fire. You can set yourself on fire various ways, but I found the easiest way to do this for the trophy was simply to fly under any of the small lava flows that fall from many of the floating platforms around the game world. You can simply fly back and forth through these to set yourself on fire over and over to get the required distance.

500 meters not at once. that is, you need to fly over the lava, get into the erupting lava or under a stream of flowing lava and fly 100 meters until the counter shows that you have flown 100 meters. You need to fly under the lava and get under it a total of 5 times.

It is much easier to fly into the lava at a height that flows from the stone islands above the city. 5 laps and done
