How to unlock the Where's My Cape? achievement in Saints Row IV: Re-Elected - Definitive Guide

I can confirm that this achievement is GLITCHED in the same way the xbox360 one is.

I tried to find out what exactly causes the glitch to happen, aparently something you do in game resets the achievement tracker, causing it to ignore the upgrades already bought.

The solution to 100% unlock this is still the same as in the xbox360 version.

Play the game as you normally would, but DO NOT buy any power upgrades untill you are at lvl50, with 1065 clusters and after you finished the "Kinzie's Gambit" mission.

Before purchasing the upgrades make a hard save, just in case.

This is very doable on casual difficulty, since it is almost impossible to die, it's a little annoying, but it beats having to play the whole game again, as I had to do.

Also, the upgrades related to challenges and those related to loyalty missions do not count toward the achievement, since you do not have to purchase them.

If you have any question or want to add anything just say so in the comments.

Yeah, it glitched on me. I'm stuck on 98%. This sucks... It didn't glitch on the 360 version.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think at least part of the problem is the Death From Above power. I was on the mission where you're in the mech to save Gat, and I was able to upgrade it during that even though I hadn't used it yet or anything. Maybe you're suppose to wait until you do the little tutorial mission for that power, 'cause I'm stuck at 98% on the achievement now. Not sure what the other could be when stuck at 96% though.

Can't believe I had to play through the whole thing again to do this. Unlocked all the skills after finishing the Kinzies Gambit quest and it popped. Thanks Rafael smile

For me it unlocked without any problems. Bought the upgrades as soon they became available and when I had enough clusters. Only "Halfway Home" and "How It Should Be" didn't unlock at the first time. For that I had to exit to the main menu and continue again,

I had to unlock every possible upgrade to get it to unlock on the One. The 360 unlocked for me after all upgrades were purchesed. At least on the Xbox One version the cheev tracker gives progress.

I had no trouble getting this to unlock. I purchased all upgrades when they became available, and did not wait until level 50. Some upgrades will not appear until late in the game, with the last three becoming available after beating Kinzie's Gambit. Happy hunting!

2020 and it’s still glitched. It just screwed me out of the achievement on PC. Now 2 out of 3 consoles I’ve played it on have screwed me.

Yeah man, maybe you can find a solution to solve this, but I tried EVERYTHING, if I had to guess I would say that buying too many upgrades too early in the game causes this, on my turn I got stuck at 96% I think, I just cant believe they didnt solve this on the one version, it was a very known issue on the 360, its just lazy porting.

Work around worked! I played without purchasing the power upgrades until I stopped at the final mission. I can also confirm no power or power upgrade you get from a mission or challenge counts toward the achievement, not even super speed or super jump (which you have to technically purchase). The achievement stays at zero. Also, if you're going for Challenge King but need to replay the game to get this achievement, it doesn't look like your progress will get overwritten. It looks like progress may be playthrough-specific. On my main playthough I'm at 90 percent. On my second, my progress finished at 36 percent since I didn't care about the challenges.

I've finally managed to unlock this achievement, and for me it was purely random when the glitch occurred while purchasing power ups.

I missed it on my first playthrough, so I did the preparation thing for my second playthrough (I needed to play another 10 hours for the 30 hour achievement anyway). I waited until I was level 50, had collected enough clusters and completed Kinzie's Gambit. I made a manual save (several actually, just to be sure).

I then ran through and bought all of the upgrades and still ended up with 98% at the end.

I went back to the save and purchased the upgrades one at a time and checked the progress bar in the achievement tracker, it failed to advance when buying "Sprint Speed 2". So I returned to the save and tried again, this time it failed to advance when buying "Jump Height 2".

So I tried the laborious process of manually saving after every few upgrades, then reverting to that save if any of the powers failed to advance the progress bar. I needed to to this 5 or 6 times before I finally managed to purchase all of the powers and reach 100%.

Based on those limited observations, I suspect that it's not a particular problem with the current game progress, etc and so it's probably safe to purchase the skills as you play normally. But ensure that you do the following when purchasing powers:

* Make a manual save
* Make a note of the current achievement progress percentage
* Purchase a single power upgrade
* Check the achievement progress again, if the percentage changed then you're fine. If not, revert to the manual save and try again.

Got hit by this too. Reloaded an older save, around when the random gangs start appearing again (before Johnny and the Death From Above are unlocked), but I was still stuck at about 98% even after playing through the storyline and purchasing the rest of the upgrades once everything was available.

Currently playing a new playthrough. Not upgrading a single power, which is a pain because run and jump have some good quality of life improvements when upgrading. Good news is that the tracker updated with my new save, dropping back down to 0% to match my current status. So I can work on getting to the late-game stage where Kinzie gives the last power and its upgrade, get the 1K-ish clusters for the upgrades, and see what upgrades count or don't count for the achievement. In particular, whether any % is gained by getting the challenge-based upgrades (mostly the Rifts) or the quest-based ones. Given that CID gives a story-based elemental change (Fire Blast), I'm guessing the free ones don't count; only the ones that actually cost clusters will. But I'll investigate whether any unlocks are necessary.

This solution is to ID what power upgrades are needed for purchase to unlock this achievement. Specifically, there are 55 distinct power upgrades you will need to buy spread among 8 different powers. For unknown reasons, this can glitch on people, with some power not tracking as being purchased or tracked despite having everything owned.

Like some others, I got burned by this. At the end, I bought everything, but it didn't unlock. I had a few backup save files, with the earliest around the time that the SR3 gangs start invading your instance of the simulation, but even after playing through the storyline up to the point that you get the final Dash Shield upgrades from Kinzie, I was still stuck at 98%.

I'm not sure what the trigger that causes the glitch is, but it took about a dozen hours starting from a new game to get the quests, the XP levels, and the clusters to buy everything. I happened to be short about 20-30 clusters when I went on my buying spree, so I had to go hunt a few more down before purchasing the last one and unlocking this achievement. Also, when I started a new game, the achievement tracker dropped back down to 0%, which was very helpful in tracking each purchase.

In general, I tried to avoid side quests that gave upgrades to your super powers. Certain challenges would unlock some upgrades, but in general you don't spend additional clusters on those, and the tracker only updated when I actually paid clusters for an unlockable ability.

With all that in mind, there are 8 powers and a total of 55 upgrades to purchase. With 55 upgrades, each purchase should increase the tracker by about 1.818%, rounded down. The upgrades are listed, in the order I purchased them, along with the percentage that the achievement tracker updated to after purchasing.

The percentages helped massively once I realised this was a glitchy achievement. I was at 90% and I realised I was still in line to get it which was nice.

GLITCHED!

This trophy can glitch on you if you max out any powers upgrades early on in the game, it is best to leave a one or more unbought from each power to near the end or not upgrade them at all. Make a separate save as soon as the mission "The Kinzie Gambit" (Betrayed) pops up in your quests in case it glitches (Read on for reasons why). Here's a method to fix the glitch, thanks to Ponypo2011 over at XBA.org:

Good news people, I have solved this. I got hit by the glitch so decided to do some work. Do EXACTLY as I write below and you will 100% get the achievement. I will also explain why it glitches. Firstly, the bad news. You need a save before the "The Kinzie Gambit" mission and I'd also advise not having done Gat's loyalty mission, and not collected all the data clusters. Ok, if you have a save before all that, load it up and do the following :-

1 - Do all of Gat's side missions, heck do everyone's side missions and loyalty missions to make sure.

2 - Once they are all clear, collect all the data clusters.

3 - Do the story missions up to and including "The Kinzie Gambit".

4 - After that mission, you will have more new powers to unlock than if you tried to max them out before. Purchase them and enjoy your super glitchy achievement.

You see, if you try and purchase all the powers early, you're [screwed]. If you wait until later as posted above, you will gain access to 3-4 more powers than if you try earlier. This is the cause of the glitch.

I hope this works for others!

I almost forgot: I still have one locked power to unlock for the fight clubs but this achievement only requires the power upgrades that you spend clusters on.
[/quote]

You purchase super power upgrades by collecting Data Clusters that are spread throughout the map, of which there are 1225. You'll need to get all of these anyway so purchasing the upgrades won't be a problem. You'll also need to max out your level (50) to have all upgrades available for purchase. Some are also only unlocked through missions and side missions. After buying all of the upgrades, you will have 190 data clusters left to spare.

The trophy is glitchy!

If you purchase all superpower upgrades before completing Kinzie's Gambit , the trophy will not unlock!

To upgrade a character's superpowers , Data Blocks are used; they are scattered throughout Stillport. To make your search easier, complete Matt Miller's side quest first, as this will unlock the Collectible Item Finder.

It is worth considering that improvements that are associated with tests and additional. tasks do not count towards the trophy.

The devil is not as scary as he is painted.
If you suddenly bought everything before the Kinsey Gambit mission, do not rush to start the game again. Reach the mission, buy the last 3 upgrades and check whether it opens or not.
I was in the same situation myself: I collected everything ahead of time, bought everything by the time the 4th strength opened, but not all of the improvements were given - they didn’t give me a trophy. But after I completed the Kinzi Gambit and bought the missing updates, the trophy immediately rang.

On PS4 the Trophy falls normally.
PS: Improvements for tests are not needed, you just need to buy all those that are unlocked in the story.

01/11/2023 the trophy is still bugged. I had to go through it again. Completed all main missions, completed all Geta missions, reached level 50, collected crystals and only then activated passive and active powers.

The trophy was not unlocked even after the mission Kinzie's Gambit.
Before purchasing power-ups, be sure to make a save so that you can “roll back”.
I found advice on the forum: buy all super power boosts only after meeting the following conditions:
1 - Complete all the tasks of Gat, just in case I recommend the tasks of all the others too
2 - When everything is done, collect all the clusters
3 - Complete all story missions, including "Betrayed".
4 - After this mission you will have more, buy all Superpowers
PS And even all this may not help in the end, then just try again with a reliable one that comes up this time.
