How to unlock the Back in the Day achievement in Saints Row IV - Definitive Guide
Back in the Day - 10G (Original Achievement)
To get this Achievement, you must spend 2 hours with any past homies from Saints Row 1, 2, or 3. These 2 hours must be spent outside of any form of mission, you must be in the simulation and NOT on the ship, and you must call your homies to you via phone (obviously).
This includes Johnny Gat, Ben King, Shaundi, Pierce, Kinzie, and Matt. There is a rumor about Tanya and Julius possibly working but I haven't confirmed that so I wouldn't bother to be safe.
Now another thing to note is that there is a challenge for spending 2 hours with homies as well. This challenge counts the time you spend with them in missions and will usually be completed before you unlock the Achievement, so dont freak out and think you were glitched.
A good way to get this would be to jump onto a rooftop (so aliens wont bother you) and call any of the homies I listed above (I called Johnny, Shaundi, and Pierce), then simply watch t.v. or do homework etc. until the two hours pass by. Just make sure to check if your controller disconnected every now and then.

I can tentatively confirm that Julius counts, on PC anyway. For the last leg of the achievement I had Julius following me, along with Maero.
I only called Maero about 2 minutes before the achievement popped, and before that it was just me and Julius for about 10-15 minutes. The catch is, I have no idea how long I had left on the achievement. Still, its way more likely that it was Julius who triggered it.

I'm not getting it. I've been using Kinzie and Keith David.

This one isn't hard at all I figure you could probably tell just from reading it. I was running around the city getting logs and destroying statues and had Johnny, Pierce, and Shaundi following me after a while it just pops not bad.

Do you need all 3 of them simultaneously? Or will having just 1 spawned work?

Having just one should be fine, I only had all three with me one time and it wasn't for the full 2 hours.

After beating the game, you can call the heroes of SR3 (Shaundi, Pierce and Gat) and just run around the city with them for 2 hours.

Or go to bed leaving the PS3 on...
