How to unlock the How It Should Be achievement in Saints Row IV - Definitive Guide
To complete this achievement, you will need to:
-Complete every instance of every activity (Fraud, Rifts, Genki's M.O.M., Mayhem, Super Power Fight Club, Blazing)
-Hack every store
-Climb every tower
-Clear every Flashpoint
-Clear every Hotspot
-Complete every Virus Injection
-Steal every Virus vehicle
-Assassinate every rogue program
You do not need to earn Gold on each of the activities for this achievement (although you will eventually need to if you're shooting for the full 1000, so you might as well try anyway).
There are also a number of Co-Op activities that you'll see on your map. These are also not required to complete this achievement - you only need to complete the single-player activities.
Each time you complete one of these activities, part of your map in your hub will turn purple, and you'll gain a little bit more control of Steelport. Any area tied to an activity that you have yet to complete will still be grey on your map.
You can go about this one of two ways: either you can run around the world completing activities at your whim, or you can follow the quest lines given to you by the other Saints. It does NOT matter which method you choose; any activities you complete while in the open world will count towards your quest progress late on, and you will not need to repeat them. Additionally, strictly following the quest tasks will eventually take you around the city to complete every activity.

Do you need to get gold in all the activities?

Yes, since each Activity has both a Gold & Silver Challenge and there's an achievement for finishing all Challenges.

In this game, there are achievements of the form in this example:
Ex. Complete Asha's Quests, Loyalty Mission and Romance.
To get them, you need to complete a specific character's side missions and loyalty mission, and then romance them by walking up to them and pressing .
If you've already done some of the activities in the simulation, they'll be crossed out for you in some of the side quests.
Completing these side quests isn't hard since it's interesting working with each new character, and some of their quests don't take long.
If you complete every side quest for every character, then you'll have completed all of the activities in the simulation and will get this achievement.
If you complete all activities in two of the game's four districts, you'll get the Half Way Home.
