How to unlock the How It Should Be achievement in Saints Row IV - Definitive Guide

To complete this achievement, you will need to:

-Complete every instance of every activity (Fraud, Rifts, Genki's M.O.M., Mayhem, Super Power Fight Club, Blazing)
-Hack every store
-Climb every tower
-Clear every Flashpoint
-Clear every Hotspot
-Complete every Virus Injection
-Steal every Virus vehicle
-Assassinate every rogue program

You do not need to earn Gold on each of the activities for this achievement (although you will eventually need to if you're shooting for the full 1000, so you might as well try anyway).

There are also a number of Co-Op activities that you'll see on your map. These are also not required to complete this achievement - you only need to complete the single-player activities.

Each time you complete one of these activities, part of your map in your hub will turn purple, and you'll gain a little bit more control of Steelport. Any area tied to an activity that you have yet to complete will still be grey on your map.

You can go about this one of two ways: either you can run around the world completing activities at your whim, or you can follow the quest lines given to you by the other Saints. It does NOT matter which method you choose; any activities you complete while in the open world will count towards your quest progress late on, and you will not need to repeat them. Additionally, strictly following the quest tasks will eventually take you around the city to complete every activity.

Do you need to get gold in all the activities?

Yes, since each Activity has both a Gold & Silver Challenge and there's an achievement for finishing all Challenges.

That's true if you're going for the full 1000, but you do not need to earn gold in all of the activities in order to earn this achievement.

Can you enter the simulation and do all of the extra side quest and all of the challenges and things after you complete the final main mission or does all of that have to be done before you finish the game?

You're allowed to re-enter the simulation and clean up anything you haven't finished after the last mission.

On the map, it says : targets killed. I know these are the rogue program's, but so far they are only initiated via story progress. There's no icon for them, and I've never found one while randomly walking around. Do they all come via the story?

It's worth noting that you cannot earn this achievement until you complete the story mission "The Very Next Day" (33 of 45 story missions) and complete the sidequests given to you by the character you rescue in that mission. The reason why is that the sidequests from this character include the assassination of two targets, and assassinations are a required free roam activity that count toward this achievement.

I've got 100% of the activities and everything done, but my progress bar on the achievement shows as 25% complete. Any idea if I'm missing something or is this a known bug?

I've got a similar issue, I did literally everything, every mission, every side-mission, even the collectibles, but this achievement shows 0%. Damn the achievements in this game are so bugged it's annoying!

If you have 0% on these when they should be complete, save the game and load it back up. They should trigger.

This achievement glitched for me - taking over 1 hood didn't register. Was playing on co-op. Going to try and get someone to help with getting into a game where that area hasn't been taken over to see if that fixes it. If not will need to re-play the game.

In this game, there are achievements of the form in this example:
Ex. Complete Asha's Quests, Loyalty Mission and Romance.
To get them, you need to complete a specific character's side missions and loyalty mission, and then romance them by walking up to them and pressing cn_X.
If you've already done some of the activities in the simulation, they'll be crossed out for you in some of the side quests.
Completing these side quests isn't hard since it's interesting working with each new character, and some of their quests don't take long.
If you complete every side quest for every character, then you'll have completed all of the activities in the simulation and will get this achievement.
If you complete all activities in two of the game's four districts, you'll get the Half Way Home.

If you complete all the missions for the brothers, you will receive it after you complete everything.
