How to unlock the Pounding the Pavement achievement in Saints Row IV - Definitive Guide

I didn't have this by the end of the game so I'm using a solution posted for "I am become death". Basically start up Fight Club Hard in Loren Square. In Round 2, the King of the Hill round the enemies will come at you with baseball bats. I simple up the Ice Buff on and when I get 6 or so enemies around me frozen I ground pound then rinse and repeat. You just need to be able to finish the Fight Club game otherwise the kills won't count. This will also count towards your 1000 enemy kills using super powers.

Sometimes kills will count as shatter kills instead of stomp kills. If that happens you can just ground pound. Provided it is upgraded enough it should kill enemies by itself.

Not sure if it's just me, but using Ice Buff and then stomping didn't seem to give credit for Stomp kills. I just used Super Stomp (which I had fully leveled by this point, probably made a difference) and got kills far quicker. Just saying for anybody that can't seem to get progress using this method.

Just something to add, to this strategy, set the difficulty to easy in options , this will give you more time, also when the king of the hill round starts , so not stand in the ring this means the round will last longer and the will king more enemies . Also no need to equip buff just stomp when you have the most enemies around you, i found if i jumped after getting knocked down you could easily stomp 10 guys at once.

I concur with Mr Funman - using the ice buff seems to just confuse the game and log everything as a shatter kill instead of a stomp. If you're halfway decent about not getting beaten to a pulp by the thugs in the King of the Hill phase, you should be able to take care of all 150 stomp kills in one shot.

I confirm. This is better without the ice buff.
The location is perfect for telekinesis kills.

You actually don't need to finish the activity. What I did was I saved my game before I exit the activity, and then I walked back into it with my kills saved. I'm not sure if saving really helps keep the kills but I never risked it to test it out.

During the Primary Quest "Emergency Situation", you'll get to a point where the objective is "TK throw clones back into source". There are an infinite number of clones spawning from a portal with no time limit or way to fail. They continuing spawning 9-at-a-time clustered together everytime the previous wave was cleared and aren't very strong at all, so there should be no danger to you, either.

This is an ideal spot to grind just about any power or weapon kill up to this point. For this particular achievement, just stand near where they spawn, let them do so, stomp, repeat. This is by far the most efficient method I was able to find.

A word of warning: as of when I did it at release, the game doesn't like to count Stomp kills very often no matter where you do them. So, just keep at it. It'll unlock sooner or later (as you can see, I do indeed have it).

Yeah, that's how it went for my partner. I, on the other hand, had the same trouble Calex dEUS had.

I see what you mean, last time i saw the counter pop up I had 120/150 over 100 pure stomp kills later still nothing, ill keep at it just about to do the last mission now so hopefully I'll get it there.

Yeah. Me and my partner were at about the same amount of Stomps. At the mission mentioned above, he easily grinded out and got the achievements just as described. I, on the other hand, killed over 200 guys and STILL the counter wouldn't even pop up. Very annoying.

easy way to do it is go to the location in the video and you can get it by killing Professor Genki 101 times DO NOT LET THE KILL COUNT GET TO 101 OR YOU CAN'T FARM IT instead press start and cancel he will spawn 101 again plus cops don't count

You will no doubt kill a few aliens over the course of the game but will likely need to grind the remainder.

An easy place to grind is within a Hard difficulty Super Powered Fightclub activity, there is one in the centre of the map (Shown in the video) start the activity and complete the first wave.

Now you'll start the second wave which is King Of The Hill, ignore the hill and instead stand on an open flat area. Several men with bats will continuously come for you and agro to you now which is perfect as these still count as aliens. Make sure you have the Stomp super power selected with cn_right and then press cn_RB to stomp the ground, hopefully they will die from the impact/colliding with a wall as they are low level aliens. (You may need to jump before Stomping else them hitting you will interrupt your attack)

You have plenty of time on the counter to get all 150 but if you happen to fail make sure you EXIT the activity to start over else your kills will not count for your challenges

Here's a video

To make this achievement much easier i advise you fully upgrade the stomp power.

I found this to be much easier during a certain side mission. It is one of pierce's side quest: back to the basics. (It is his first side quest, not the loyalty mission) This quest requires you to initialize a virus injection where you will have to kill 101 prof. Genki mascots. Just keep jumping (so you can earn kills towards 'I am become death') and pressing RB until you've killed all of the mascots. I know this will not get you the achievement but you will be a lot closer to it than when you started :)

Shattering enemies with the pound does not appear to be counting kills properly, for me at least. If you're having trouble with the kills counting, just use the basic stomp ability (rock icon). Charge a super jump and stomp from higher altitude for more damage.

Once you've got the stomp power go ahead and kill with it using cn_R2.

The easiest one to kill with I found was the rock/earth stomp once you've upgraded it, as the gravity one doesn't do much damage and just makes everyone float and so you have to shoot them. Switch using cn_right until you get the right one.

If you've finished the game and need aliens to spawn, walk into a shop and shoot the shopkeeper for instant reputation.

The Stomp Super Power is the third attack you gain, which is selected with . As the name suggests, this stomps the ground either from on the ground or in midair using , damaging the Aliens around it. However, this is rarely lethal on undamaged Aliens, so you'll either need to Stomp more than once, which can be a pain, or damage the enemies first. Finish off 150 aliens using this to get the trophy.

A very good way to grind this is to load up a virus upload activity that has Genkis instead of Aliens. The best one is in one of Pierce's side quests, you need to kill 101 enemies. These enemies will die in one hit from any super power, so you can get close to the allocated amount of kills then leave the area so it resets the activity. Once the timer hits zero, run back and start the activity again. Another method if you've done this is the hard fight club. The second wave is a king of the hill, just stay out of the area and kill the weak enemies that will flock to you. If you have Enter the Dominatrix, you can also grind kills on the second mission of it. You'll be attacked frequently two cars at a time.

Use Stomp Rock, tried stomp explosion, but kills didn't count.
