How to unlock the The Challenge King achievement in Saints Row IV - Definitive Guide

If you still need kills after completing all of the missions, quests, ect. go into any store and raise your gun at the clerk. It will trigger a hold up and raise your wanted level. I strongly advise completing the kills before the end of the game. You can also go to the military base on the island in the southeast and create havoc to get your wanted level up as pointed out by ArrogantGenius.
"Targets" quests such as Virus Injection and Flashpoints are great for getting these kills. Just start one, kill a bunch, then, when you are about to complete it, run away. You can then come back to it later and all the enemies will have respawned.
DRedWingsDJY highlights a strategy I highly recommend if you haven't gone too far into the main story. For the gun and super power kills, he recommends getting them during the 'Emergency Situation' campaign quest. During that quest, only low-level ground aliens and gang members spawn. You can stand on rooftops and blast away without increasing your notoriety. You'll still need to work on the Singularity gun, Fire ignitions, and Deaths from above since those won't be unlocked in the campaign yet. Plan ahead and arm yourself with the desired guns. It is very difficult to change weapons during this mission because the enemies will constantly interrupt you inside the weapon stores.

The Collectible Finder upgrade is unlocked after completing Matt Miller's "The Pledge" side quest. A must have that saves time rather than randomly searching or using a map.
When going for the collectibles, the bookmark system on the map screen can really save a lot of time by not having to switch back and forth from the map screen.

If you are having trouble completing some of the activities, quests, targets, ect. and are playing on normal or hard difficulty, just turn the difficulty down to easy. It will give you more time in certain events and has no effect on achievements since none of them are based difficulty. Credit to lionpants.

Complete All Other Challenges
Earned when completing all of the challenges.

Blazin’ Gold Medals
The gold medal time is 15 seconds for each course, reaching a checkpoint stops the clock, and avoid fire as it reduces time by 2 seconds.

Genki’s M.O.M. Gold Medals
Be as quick as possible moving from location to location.

Insurance Fraud Gold Medals
Jump high and rag doll yourself. Hitting cars will multiply your score. Saran447 says that if you fast sprint towards a car and press RT or LT just before you hit the car, it can fling you into the air. Especially useful because even if the car is stationery, it will still throw you into the air.

On-Foot Mayhem Gold Medals
The best strategy for these activities if you are having trouble is once you reach level 26, is to unlock the Super Sprint 'Tornado' upgrade. Then instead of using the weapons or TK/Stomp powers, just super sprint around running into cars, people, everything. For the TK Mayhem, be sure to grab the giant orb as well. Thanks to Cornflopper for this tip.

Super-Powered Fight Club Gold Medals
Best done after upgrading all powers to at or near max. Most difficult activity for me. Freeze and stomp were most effective. Go after only the boss in the final round as he is the only one you have to defeat. Another way suggested by SiebeTolsma is to just sprint from enemy to enemy, and using the beatdown to quickly take them down. Perfidious Sinn says use the Shrink (Stomp) element. If you shrink any enemy, even a boss, and then melee them it kills them instantly.

Vehicular Mayhem Gold Medals
Blow things up with the given vehicle.

Platforming Rift Gold Medals
Upgrade super jump. Better to take your time rather than speeding through. Falling off will reduce the score bonus at the end of each segment.

Speed Rift Gold Medals
Use the boost as much as possible. While boosting hitting barriers increases score.

TK Rift Gold Medals
Upgrade Telekinesis throw cost and recharge. Keep your combo high to get the maximum score from each hit. Helps to have the ability to not rag doll from explosions.

10 Aliens Super-Kicked
Click right stick while unarmed to super-kick.

100 Death From Above Kills
Unlocked late in the game by completing the "The Very Next Day" main quest. If you are having trouble getting kills, you can use freeze blast on the enemies before bombing them. Leave some Flashpoints or Virus Injections unplayed until it is unlocked. Start a Flashpointsor Virus Injection and get some kills then right before you are about to complete it, run away. The quest will cancel and you can restart it. InfernalDante34 says start the Medium difficulty Super Power Fight Club (the one with Julius). The third round is a "King of the Hill" round, and the enemies will continue to spawn (two on the map at a time). Also, it takes TWO hits with Death from Above from any height to kill them, so it is quicker to do small jumps and hit the enemies with it quickly. You MUST finish the challenge for the kills to count though, if you let the timer run out none of your kills will count.

25 Miles Super Sprinted
You'll get it over time. The Unlimited Sprint upgrade is unlocked by completing Keith David's side quest "Executive Orders".

10 Superpowered Beatdowns
While unarmed, hold down LB and use LT or RT on an enemy to perform a melee attack. Credit to fuzzyjw510.

1800 Seconds of Super Jump Air Time
You'll get this over time.

30 Telekinetic Catches
To unlock the Telekinesis Catch element earn all Silver Medals in the Genki's M.O.M. activity. A red beam of light shows the warden is holding something. When he throws it press RB with telekinesis while looking in his general direction. Almighty Jei says that sometimes, but not all the time, he would catch the object and throw it back, enabling the chance to catch it back. Much better than waiting for him to pick something up on his own.

30 Telekinesis Kills
Telekinesis someone and throw them at a nearby wall. They must die from the impact. Easier when upgraded. Telekinesis is unlocked by completing the "Ghost in the Machine" main quest.

Throw 100 Enemies With Telekinesis
Don't have to kill them. Just throw them.

10 Vehicles Super-Kicked
Press right stick while unarmed and standing next to a vehicle.

10 Arc Lightning Hits
Use the telekinesis lightning element or buff lightning element on enemies. Don't have to kill them. The telekinesis lightning element is unlocked by completing CID's side quest "Obey (One More Time)". The buff lightning element is unlocked by completing Ben King's side quest "The Climax".

10 Enemies Mind Controlled
Use the blast mind control element on enemies. Don't have to kill. The blast element mind control is unlocked by completing Matt Miller's side quest "The Prestige".

10 Fire Element Ignitions
Use the buff fire element on enemies. Must kill them. The buff element fire is unlocked by completing the "Emergency Situation" main quest.

100 Freeze Shatters
Use the blast or buff freeze elements to freeze enemies and shatter them. Must kill the enemy. The buff element freeze is unlocked by completing Ben King's side quest "Ghost Writing".

10 Gravity Float Kills
Use the stomp gravity float element on ten enemies and kill them while they are floating. The stomp element gravity is unlocked by completing Fun Shaundi's side quest "Something to Prove".

75 Ground Stomp Stuns
Use the stomp rock element on enemies. To get a ground stomp stun, just run into the middle of a group of enemies and press RB with the ground rock element. Don't have to kill them. Ground stomp is unlocked by completing the "Anomalous Readings" main quest.

10 Enemies Health Stolen
Use the telekinesis life stealing element on 10 enemies. Don't have to kill them. Unlocked by completing CID's side quest "Obey".

10 Shrunken Enemies Squished
Use the stomp shrink element on enemies. Then step on them ten times. The stomp element shrink is unlocked by completing Fun Shaundi's side quest "Shaundi's List".

250 Bounce Rifle Kills
Get kills with it. Unlockerd during the story mission "Ghost in the Machine."

250 Dubstep Gun Kills
Get kills with it. Unlocked after completing the Keith David side quest "Campaign Trail of Destruction."

150 Targets Abducted
Use the Abduct-O-matic gun. Unlocked by completing the "Complete One Other Challenge' challenge.

250 Targets Blackholed
Get kills with the Singularity Gun. Unlocked after completing Johnny Gat's side mission "WWGD."

100 Enemies Disintegrated
Use the Disintegrator to kill. Unlocked by completing the "Back by Popular Demand" main quest.

50 Inflato-Ray Kills
Get kills with it. Unlocked after completing Pierce's side mission "Fun Trumps All."

250 Mech Suit Kills
You will get most of these during the main story and Mech Mayhem activities. Replay the Mech Mayhem activity if still short.

30 Tentacle Bat Beatdowns
Beat people with it. Unlocked during Kinzie's "Customizations" side quest.

Destroy 100 Alien Vehicles
Will probably come naturally but Tank Mayhem is the shortest route.

Destroy 100 C.I.D.S
Kill the orbs that fly about and give shields. You can farm these during the last mission of the game.

Destroy 60 Murderbots
You'll get it over time.

Destroy 30 Portals
You'll get it over time.

Kill 1000 Aliens
You'll get it over time.

Kill 30 Wardens
Max out your wanted level and they will appear if you still need some post-game.

20 Minutes of Alien High Notoriety Time
You'll get it over time.

50 Aliens Taunted
Walk up to and enemy and hold Left on the D-Pad. Wookiee Hairem suggested doing them at flashpoints because you can get 4-5 each time you taunt. Samphaa said that if you need taunts but have finished all the hotspots, replay the fight club in Loren Square. Get to the 2nd round and just keep jumping in one spot, when you have about 10 enemies below you, freeze them, then land and taunt them.

39 Audio Logs Collected
They appear on the map only after completing each characters rescue mission. Unlock the Collectible Finder upgrade to find them or use this map. http://i.imgur.com/zU8Y0kL
Source: www.vgfaq.com

150,000 Feet Traveled in Alien Vehicle
Post-game, grab a Void (the alien jet) and fly from end to end of the city. When the jet reaches the edge of the map it will turn around and enter hover mode. Hit B to switch it back to flight mode. If you care to do this early on, xxB3averHunterx suggested that the UFO mayhem activities give you roughly 30,000 feet traveled in 3:00 if you switch to plane mode & just circle the area right from the start.

4 Miles Traveled in Mech Suit
Will get this playing the main game and the Mech Mayhem. Replay Mech Mayhem if you still don't have it.

8 Text Adventures Collected
Unlock the Collectible Finder upgrade to find them or use this map. http://i.imgur.com/lNdgZ6B
Source: www.vgfaq.com

120 Minutes Spent With Homies
Call Homies or find random friendly Saints on the street and Up on the D-pad to get them to follow you. Starting a main story quest or side quest will dismiss them.

36 Zinyak Statues Destroyed
Destroy Zinyak Statues found around the city. Every Planet Zin (Planet Saints) clothing store will have 2, one on the front of the store and one inside of the store in the back. Unlock the Collectible Finder upgrade to find them or use this map. http://i.imgur.com/RwYRsri

If anyone could let me know the missions that unlock the unique weapons and upgrades would be greatly appreciated.

If you have missed the "Death from Above" kills like me, start the Medium difficulty Super Power Fight Club (the one with Julius). The third round is a "King of the Hill" round, and the enemies will continue to spawn (two on the map at a time). This is the best time to get Death from Above kills if you've done all of the challenges and missions already.

Also, it takes TWO hits with Death from Above from any height to kill them, so it is quicker to do small jumps and hit the enemies with it quickly. You MUST finish the challenge for the kills to count though, if you let the timer run out none of your kills will count. Still in the middle of this one now, and I average 15 or so kills with Death from Above each round (I usually wait until there's around 2:00 - 1:30 left on the clock to fill the King of the Hill timer, that gives you enough time to kill Julius and the three flaming enemies with him in the 4th and final round).

Hope this helps someone! (Also, Genki's M.O.M. gold medals make me furious in this game, it's the only medal I need besides this one and the alien vehicle distance one)

Just a tip for anyone who wants to work on the Travel 2,500,000 feet in an alien vehicle early. The UFO mayhem activities give you roughly 30,000 feet traveled in 3:00 if you switch to plane mode & just circle the area right from the start. Good guide Solus!

Can you still find aliens after finishing the story? or should I finish those challenges beforehand? i.e. the Taunt challenge

It's easier to do taunts before you finish the game, flashpoints are good places

After the story is complete, go into a store and aim your gun at the store clerk. This will raise your wanted level. I waited until the end of the game to get a lot of the kills and it was a bad idea.

If anyone is having trouble with the TK On Foot Mayhem activities. The easiest way I found is pick up an orb and super sprint on the sidewalks with the orb held by TK. All other on foot mayhem activities are easiest with the Super Sprint Tornado skill. Just run around blocks of the city. You don't even need the weapons given.

^^^ I just found one of the Voids on a tower that I had completed and am doing the rubber band thing now. Works better than the UFO mayhem thing unless your game freezes alot like mine has been doing.

Killing police officers with the Blackhole Gun Mayhem activity does count towards completing the challenge. I haven't unlocked the gun for use outside of that activity yet, but my count has gone up quite a bit after replaying it a few times.

There's a point in the story where you consistently have a 1 Bar Wanted level. At that point I'd stir up trouble until the Wardens came, that's how I ground those kills out.

For the most part, the best way to get weapon and power kills was from Infections. There were two where you had to kill 55 and 101 Genki's, and they spawn like 15 at once. The only power that didn't work for was Fire Buff.

For the Telekinetic Catches, sometimes it takes a long while for the Warden to decide to throw something. A good strategy I employed was to throw something at him. Sometimes, but not all the time, he would catch the object and throw it back at me, enabling me to catch it back. Much better than waiting for him to pick something up on his own.

nice guide

i've noticed something weird with the stat tracking on the 30 Warden kills, once I got to 19 kills it stopped tracking each kill and I only got credit after killing 3 wardens, so I ended up killing way more than 30 before it was completed.

A easy way to get the " 2,500,000 Feet Traveled in Alien Vehicle " is to just take a piece of tape on your controller and make the plane fly around in cirlcles, then just do something else meanwhile. Works like a charm for me, allmost finnished with the challenge, also the last challenge I need so 1000G ( still need to play 40 hours tho...) here I come :D

By I Bamsemumsen I on 28 Aug 2013 18:17
Yep, I did (almost) the same thing as Bamsemumsen for the 2.5M feet. Just rubberbanded my left stick so it kept flying in a circle. Will take about 2-3 hours, so you can do something else while its flying around and around.

I can also confirm fyzzyjw510's method for getting Superpowered Beatdowns... which, incidentally, are a great way to complete the Superpowered Fight Club activities. Just sprint from enemy to enemy, and using the beatdown to quickly take them down.

Thanks everyone for all the tips, more have been added with credit and keep them coming.

@DRedWingDJY to unlock the Telekinesis Catch you need to earn at least silver in all of the "Genki's M.O.M." activities.
@Z3R024 To get a ground stomp stun, just run into the middle of a group of enemies and press RB with the ground rock element.

To add to my above comment about "Death from Above" kills, it also makes it much quicker if you use your freeze blast on them. Death from Above is then a one hit kill. Managed to get 33 Death from Above kills in one round of Super Power Fight Club.

The Superpowered Fight Club vs Jyunichi is kicking my ass. I can't see how I can get all four waves done in 3 minutes when Jyunichi himself takes a shitload of damage. Plus, those powers throwing you around end up sapping so much time along with the retarded ability of them to interrupt you KO'ing an opponent.

Also for the Distance in an Alien Vehicle, if you do a rubber band/tape trick, make sure you use a charge and play kit/wired controller. After awhile my controller would shut off due to inactivity.

I didn't do Fight Club until beating the game, but this helped a lot:

Use the Shrink (Stomp) element. If you shrink any enemy, even a boss, and then melee them it kills them instantly.

I was having issues killing Jyunichi but one Shrink + melee kick is an instant kill.

An alternative for the Telekinesis Catch is to do the Loren Square fight club. In round 3 you fight a couple of Genki Girls. Kill most of them, leaving one. There's plenty of stuff laying around for her to throw (fences, orbs, railings). It's a bit easier and quicker to get to rather than getting high wanted level and then fighting a Warden. Plus the Genki Girls seem to throw more often from my experience.

I used fight club for a lot of my achievements and challenges.

The second wave is great for taunts, powers, and unique alien kills. The enemies just keep spawning and they come in groups of 10. You'll also want to freeze them in groups when taunting.

When you get down to about 2:00, you will want to hop up into the circle and use your BUFF - FREEZE power. The enemies won't get near you. This power also works great for the remainder of the waves. I could kill the boss within 10 seconds.

For the 2,500,000 Feet Traveled in Alien Vehicle challenge, I called in an XOR, rubberbanned the left stick, connected the controller so it wouldn't time out and let it run. It's not that fast in the air, but when it reaches the edges, it will automatically turn around and keep going. Once or twice it got hung up on the center tower, but for the most part, I just left it running overnight for this horrible challenge.
I also got the Fourth and Forty achievement while this was running.

Any tips on UFO Mayhem (hard)? Best I went was 700K+. It doesn't seem to have enough non-high value targets to keep the combo high enough when I hit the high value ones.

Genki Murder (Hard) also owned me by about 10-15 seconds. First two rounds are frustrating, and took up way too much time.

If you have the DLC, you can do the TK catches when fighting the Dominatrix. I found that easier than the wardens. Also, if anyone is struggling with Genki gold medals, the Christmas DLC has new Genki activities and these count towards the challenges. So you can do 2 easy and 1 medium rather than having to complete any hard.

Ok so I've been trying to do superpowered beatdowns for a while now. Sprint and RT/LT method wasn't working for me. It wasn't tracking the kills anyway. For some reason when I started using Sprint while pressing R-Stick(Testy-Manslaughter), it started to count. I also found this an easier way to execute the beatdowns.

You should clarify how the Collectible Finder works. I wasted hours trying to use the minimap and those maps on Imgur before I found out that you can filter the world map by "collectibles" on a different achievement solution.

DRedWingsDJY's description, "Pull up the map (hit 'back') and then use the D pad to filter to collectibles only.", on A Real Cluster is straightforward, whereas "Unlock the Collectible Finder upgrade to find them" is very vague.

Just wanted to repeat the tip TotyToe left: Also, if anyone is struggling with Genki gold medals, the Christmas DLC has new Genki activities and these count towards the challenges. So you can do 2 easy and 1 medium rather than having to complete any hard.

Great solution. I needed the 50 taunts as I hadn't figured out how to taunt.

For me, the most useful pieces of advice were:
-Play on Casual.
-Run through traffic during the On-foot Mayhem missions to score points.
-Use Stomp/Shrink on bosses during Fight Club missions.
&
-Go to the military base or Hard Fight Club mission in Loren to work on specific kills.

Tentacle bat was the most annoying, I completed the campaign way before this and it was just horrible. You can only get a few per time you become wanted on the island, and those jumping aliens just pounce every single time you get near them, plus those explosions from the ball and tank kill the only aliens there are. It’s just the worst thing ever, totally recommend doing it before you complete the campaign.

I finished 60 challenges before I finished the game, the only ones I had to grind were death from above, ground stomps, inflator ray, bounce rifle kills and the 2.5 million feet in an alien vehicle. I went out to the edge of the airport and blew up a few cars to get my wanted level into the first bracket and then I would work on my weapon kills and power kills. It only took me a couple hours to finish up my kills.

I had only racked up about 200k on my alien vehicle challenge during the actual game. I put bookmarks in the top right and bottom left corners of the map and just would let the Void fly between them. When it hit the edge it switched to hover mode so I just switched back and pointed it at the other bookmark. It took about 2-3 minutes per pass and each pass was 25k feet. Took me about 4 hours to get my flight time in. Rubber banding might work better but I didn't trust it not to run into something while I was away.

For the On-Foot Mayhem, I had trouble getting Gold on one of the 'easy' ones using sprint/tornado (I was barely getting up to Silver). After a couple of tries, I decided to just switch to my maxed out Singularity (Black Hole) gun and managed to get Gold on the first try with a minute to spare. Sprint/tornado worked on all the others for me.

I found an easy way to grind some "kill X enemies with (X weapon)"

Pierce has a "Quest Line" called "Back to Basics", the 4th mission down is "Initialize Virus Injection"...that job has you kill 101 mascots....what I did was kill 99 mascots with the Disintegrator /Dubstep Gun/ Abductor Gun OR "Power/ Element Kills"(for example), exit the Diversion, and restart it right there to clean up the rest of the kills........

You can leave this mission unfinished as long as you want because the reward isn't worth it (IMHO)

There's a little tip for the ones who needs to kill ennemies with superpowers (like the 100 kills with the earthquake one) AFTER completing all sidequests.

You can replay the Fight Club activity with superpowers and then you can get kills with your powers with no problems. Do it at the King of the Hill part because there's an infinity of ennemies in it, but make sure you don't lose or else your number of kill si going back like before you started the activity!

It's not a full solution but this may help!

Oh! and forgive me if there's any grammar error cuz english is not my maternal language :/

You can let time run out just DO NOT restart activity or else you go back to your previous kill count. Just exit and go back in to the activity. Rinse and repeat till you get it.

This solution is simply an add-on to the excellent guides already provided by others of the TA community.

If you are still requiring kills after the completion of all main story missions and activities, there is an easy way to grind out those kills.

Just load up the second mission from the "Enter The Dominatrix" DLC, and after freeing Pierce from the rack, run to the nearest road.

Two cars at a time, each carrying 4 aliens, will continue to arrive for an infinite amount of time, allowing you to rack up those kills with minimal effort.

One final tip is to remember to upgrade your weapons from within a weapon store, to maximise the damage, reload times etc, thus making the kills come even easier.

Happy grinding!

A tip for getting weapon kills: a good way to bypass weapon recharges is to customize the appearance of the weapon. When you do this it will fully charge the weapon. Rinse and repeat and be sure to stay close to a friendly fire. Also, if you are farming notoriety, do not let the meter fill up all the way. Go catch a C.I.D. And it will wipe your notoriety.

I would recommend doing all tests with getting kills from a certain weapon or ability in the Virus Input which is located in the image (clickable). Why there and not in the arena? Because this goal has one wave, you need to kill 101 enemies and a lot of Genki Professors appear who have very little health, i.e. It won’t be difficult to kill them even with a weapon that hasn’t been upgraded, and besides, they themselves don’t have firearms. As soon as you score 80-90 kills, we go beyond the red circle so that the task is canceled and repeat the procedure. Absolutely all kills count, they are counted as aliens, so you can even easily get 1000 kills with combo superpowers.
You can also easily get kills for DLC No. 1 there.

The only problem . If you pass it, the target will disappear. If you completed it before reading the hint, then don’t despair, there is another similar task in the simulation, but unfortunately I don’t remember its location.

...there is another similar task, Virus INJECTION.

ATTENTION: this task can be accidentally completed in the additional quest OBEY .

The only small disadvantage of farming is that in a single wave you can kill NO more than 44 enemies , otherwise the task will end FOREVER.

There are only 66 tests. If you want to make them easier, set the difficulty level to “Casual”. This will help primarily in tasks like "Speed Rift" or "Platforming Rift", where medals are awarded for the number of points received. On "Casual" such tasks are passed for gold medals most often on the first try, because the number of points required is minimal. Let me remind you that the game does not have a trophy associated with the difficulty level, so if you wish, you can at least play the entire game on “Casual”.
