First things first, see Challenger 
for an explanation of the Battle Arena. In order to unlock the Champion trophy, you need to finish all of the Headline Bouts. There are thirty-nine Headline Bouts in the Battle Arena, so you’re in for the long haul with this one. It isn’t actually all that tough, though; just stock up on potions, buffs, and healing items, and you’ll be fine. Once you’ve beaten all thirty-nine, the Champion trophy will then unlock.
